Challenge Mode doesn't autosave?

Hi. I recently (3/4 days ago?) bought my first ever OOTP. Only got into baseball in past few years and a friend recommended this after I'd burnt through The Show until I understood most things in the sport (mainly the contract stuff). I was enjoying it until about half an hour ago.

So, I was under the impression that "challenge mode" was set up as a non-save spamming mode. No do-overs. Is it meant to be that? If so, I should probably pop over to bug reports, but I had a look and I dont have any errors or dumps.

I only won the world series only to have the game crash (no error or dump) on my news screen two days later. I figured "no big deal, challenge mode! right?" No. I rebooted and I load up before game 6 (the clincher).

I literally do not have the heart to sit through it. It was a ridiculously satisfying game to win, scoring 6 in the bottom of the 8th to win by two runs. Welp, at least I have the screenshots I was sending to my friend.... and the steam achievements.

Minor update:

Cooler heads prevailed this morning. I sucked it up and took it as a lesson learned.

The redo of game 6 nearly broke my spirits again. We lost 15-3.

Game 7. Corbin Burnes got through 5 without giving up a hit, but we hadnt scored either. Bottom of the 5th... we put up 6. And that was that.

Lesson for newbies like myself: Save. Backup. Duplicate backup. etc. etc.
