Perfect Baseball Game

The perfect baseball game would be OOTP and RBI 20 graphics

hoping within a few versions we get closer. small jumps each year. not gonna lie, a few years back when it was clear a decent amount of development was going toward the 3D i figured things would be a bit ahead of where they currently are by now. still glad it got added and grateful for where it's at even.

I'm glad that those who want improvement in OOTP's graphics are getting a bit more of what they want each year, but for me, 3D is of no importance at all.

It says something about the strength of the game that players who are excited about graphical improvements and those of us who prefer a text-based baseball management sim with 2-D game graphics can get a lot of enjoyment out of the same game. To me, OOTP baseball is the best sports management sim there is, better even than Football Manager.

OOTP 14 remains my favorite version of the game. I like the look of the tabs along the side and top of the screen. Later versions of the game look colder, too much like "Tron." I have several fictional leagues going, each exciting in its own way. I use sound, but no ball animation. I bought OOTP 18, but rarely play it.

I can understand an older version holding a bigger place in your heart compared to current versions, but I would think that there must have been a lot of fundamental & functional changes since OOTP 14 and you're limiting your potential enjoyment for a game you already love. Like you, I've skipped software updates due to preferring older GUIs tremendously over the modern GUI, for example, but after a couple of generations I just bite the bullet because I want all of the improvements that have occurred over the last few versions. However, I do respect your ability to stay strong with OOTP 14.
