They may not lose much money if they are able to claim AB didnt tell them about the incidents. I dont think it would make much difference as AB will most likely be spending it on lawyer fees.
Bad thing is that if AB doesnt go to jail and isnt allowed to play in the NFL he will still making money from some talk/reality type show or a book.
Look at how much news he gets now. Eventually he will be old news and probably end up in bankruptcy.

They don't have too.
Getting released by 3 different teams in less than a year should be enough proof that AB is more than capable of banning himself than the NFL ever was.

We might be saved from all the penalties.

I'm starting to think the refs are doing this intentionally, either as retaliation to the league for demoting all full-time refs or to push the league to re-negotiate their CBA which iirc is up after this season.
I didn't think of that angle. Because some of these calls go beyond reasonable. I have to believe there's a reason behind it other than them being complete morons.

The patriots didn't need him.
If he is innocent he might get a chance with another team but it would be a team like the dolphins that need to sell some tickets. He would also be looking at a whole less money. I wouldn't be surprised if his agent drops him. I kinda lean towards his career being over but if he could clean up his act he might get another chance next training camp but i don't see a top team taking a chance on him and even for a bad team it might take him a long time to straighten up.
Seems to me the NFL might look at getting him some help. Maybe he suffered a brain injury.
Only player i know that lost a 30 million guaranteed contract, the patriots contract and was release by 3 teams all in one year.
How is that even possible?
It appears AB has a long history.

And Zeke Elliott gets 6 weeks? You've got to be kidding me.

Yeah i would say the NFL should suspend him a year based on past behavior regardless of whether he is convicted. I dont know if the players union would fight it.
After a year i can still see a bad team that needs to sell tickets signing him.

7-2 in my early game picks according to my calculations.

TEN(-1.5) at JAX - This should be close but I'll go with the home team here. PICK: JAX. Won

CIN at BUF(-6.0) - The Bills are improved but I don't think they're that much better than the Bengals PICK: CIN won

MIA at DAL(-21.0) - Gotta go against the Dolphins until they prove they can be competitive PICK: DAL won

DEN at GB(-8.0) - I think the line is about right, but Denver may be a little better than people think. PICK: DEN loss

ATL at IND(-2.0) - The Falcons have the superior passing game I think. PICK: ATL loss

BAL at KC(-6.5) - Expect this game to be closer than the spread. PICK: BAL. Won

OAK at MIN(-7.5) - Could get ugly early. PICK: MIN won

NYJ at NE(-10) - As long as the Patriots play for the whole game this should be easy. PICK: NE won

CAR at ARI(-2.5) - Murray not at the Cam Newton level yet. PICK: CAR won

NYG at TAM(-6.5) - Giants defence is awful. PICK: TAM loss

HOU at LAC(-3.0) - Will be a very close and exciting game. PICK: HOU won

PIT at SF(-7.0) - Always tough when you lose your starting QB. PICK: SF loss

NO at SEA(-4.5) - Seahawks games are usually closer than they should be PICK: NO won

LAR(-3) at CLE - Could be a close game but I think the Rams are slightly better. Pick: LAR won

CHI(-4.0) at WAS - Redskins have problems playing for four quarters.PICK: CHI won

Finished the week 11-4!

So.....are we going to start allowing replay to challenge facemask calls now, or should we just fire referees who can't make the obvious, easy calls?

I don't know. I do know that Daniel Jones Wally Pipped Eli Manning today. And I do know that it's only one game. That has to be said.

But once that is said, what a difference. The Giants fell behind by 28-10 at the half - they've got a lot of work to do on their defense - but then they took it to the Bucs in the second half.

Jones looked strong, mobile, and inspiring and the team rallied behind him. For once, FOR ONCE, there was a heartbreaking, last-minute loss and it was NOT the Giants suffering it.

I should have included in my preface that if Matt Gay makes that field-goal on the final play, I'm not here talking. But he did miss. He MISSED!

A new era has dawned. Yes, indeed, Jones has pipped Manning and it's Jones' team now.

So okay, I'm done now. Back to "Did Kyle Allen Wally Pip Cam Newton?"

I think at this point Carolina is better suited seeing what they have in Allen than putting Cam back out there, but I doubt they make that switch. At the least they should make sure Cam is 100% healthy before he comes back so they don't waste their time watching him play like he did in week 1 and 2.

This. For the life of me, I don't get why the Panthers don't learn from experience. Playing him at less than full strength was a disaster last year, but they repeated the same mistake this year.

Panthers already ruled out Cam for Sunday. It's obvious they tried to force the issue B4 w/Cam's injury because they didn't think much of Kyle Allen. And I don't blame their low opinion of Allen cause he was horrible in the preseason. But that is just further proof the staff are a bunch of dunces. 1. They shouldn't have been playing a less than 100% Cam after last season's fiasco ending. 2. They should have been looking to pick up an upgrade at backup if they were going to have such little faith in Allen. Dave Tepper is going to have some interesting decisions about the conductors of the Panther train once the year ends.

They did spend a third round pick on Will Grier but Allen evidently was better.

I wouldn't play Cam again. He is done. Rivera should be fired for throwing the first two weeks of the season by sticking Cam out there when he clearly wasn't able to play. And for being terrible in general.

Yes and yes. There should be a mechanism for getting ridiculously obvious calls right via replay, IMO... Refs are graded on every play. If an otherwise top-graded ref missed that call, he should get seriously dinged for it but that shouldn't necessarily mean the end of his NFL ref career. If, OTOH, a mediocre-to-poor-graded ref missed it, he should be notified that his Sundays are now free for family time and bbq's.

Week 1: 6-7 Week 2: 7-9 Week 3: 11-4 Total: 24-20

Week 4
PHI at GB(-4.5) Could be a trap game but the Packers are off to a strong start. PICK: GB

TEN at ATL(-4.0) Atlanta did not look good against the Colts Pick: TEN

NE(-7.0) at BUF Not gonna bet against the Pats until they prove me wrong. Pick: NE

KC(-6.0) at DET Looking more and more like an AFC Championship rematch. Pick: KC

OAK at IND(-6.5) Not going to bet for Oakland just like I'm not gonna bet against NE. Pick: IND

LAC(-16.5) at MIA - Duh. Pick: LAC

WAS at NYG(-3) - The spread should definately be higher here. Pick: NYG

CLE at BAL(-7.0) - I don't see the ravens running away from Cleveland here. pick: CLE

CAR at HOU(-5.0) - Watson is turning into a near elite QB. Pick: HOU

TAM at LAR(-9.0) Well, TAM did lose to NYG. Pick: LAR

SEA(-4.5) at ARI This could be close but I see the Seahawks taking the spread Pick: SEA

MIN at CHI(-2.5) Close contest between two good teams, but I'll take the home team. PICK: CHI

JAX at DEN(-3.0) I see Jacksonville winning this straight up. Pick: JAX

DAL(-2.5) at NO Finally could be the Cowboys year to make the super bowl. PICK: DAL
