A great nicknames team would be all kinds of fun.

Yeah, as a Maddox owner, I almost feel like I have to at this point, especially since I've almost finished the Phillies mission for the Dykstra who would slot in as an obvious replacement.

I am a much more casual player, I have no chance of spending enough money to complete the more advanced team missions. I play more to win than to get all the collections done. He's my every day CF, but I think I gotta put him up.

I´m the same way, I sold Nellie Fox when he was my starting 2B, but just be sure the profit margin after finding a suitable replacement is worthwhile.

Here's an idea: Dykstra - Maddox platoon in CF, with both as 4th OF when on the bench. Would the value be worth keeping Maddox ?

Too late someone snapped my Maddox for 16k already. I'd got Trout already who can fill in fine in CF, I just like being able to shift Trout over to LF as a 106 to give me 100+ players at 2 OF spots and 2 IF spots virtually every game (plus behind the plate with Carter, although he doesn't play as much given that he's sporting a .325 OPS and -8 OPS+ so far this year).

Trout was the unknown variable I should have thought of. Out of curiosity, who's your RF?

Vlad (Expos SE). So I would rather have better D in the other 2 spots if I can.

A good one too! However I assumed defense was more important in RF than LF. But since you're part of the dev team, I'll revisit my personal bias!

It is! But you gotta take the individuals into account. RF needs a better arm than LF, and Vlad has a huge arm and Trout has a bad one. So Trout is like a 106 in LF and a 90 in RF, whereas Vlad would probably be about even in LF and RF. So to me, I think the gap in their individual talents is enough to play them that way around.

Re: Maddox. I don't think I could bring myself to sell him. I bought in at 6599 PP back in the old days, but that 10K PP difference would have to get a good deal larger for me to think about it.

If anyone's looking for a Dusty Baker, you're in luck! For the low price of 1 million PP! Don't dawdle because the auction closes in a little less than 2 hours.

Hmmm...an interesting ordeal going on right now on the AH with a 93 Vida Blue card. Keep in mind this is NOT the really nice SE card, but the more mundane card with 102/54/60 stats and a 9K last 7 day price.

The card currently has 10 bids and the starting bid is listed as 100K. Either someone really wants this card for a mission or something weird is going on.

SE Dykstra also comes equipped with a howitzer if you need to deploy him in RF. That's what my Phillies build does with Maddox in CF.
