STANDINGS AS OF 2034-35 TRADING DEADLINE:
Worcester to get new arena The city of Worcester announced they will be building a new 17,500 seat arena to replace the over 50 year old DCU Center. The convention center connected to the arena will also be demolished and turned into a park. Demolition of the arena is set to take place in the 2036 offseason, and the arena is expected to be finished in time for the 2038-39 season. In the meantime, the Bobcats will temporarily play in the 1,600 seat Hart Center on the campus of College of the Holy Cross. Stingrays moving to Jacksonville next season Stingrays ownership announced earlier in the week that the team would no longer be playing in South Carolina after the 2034-35 season. The team has been towards the bottom in attendance for a couple years, and the team has been losing millions despite on-ice success. They announced they will be moving to the 15,000 seat Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena for 2035-36. |

ROUND 2 RESULTS:
WHA announces expansion team locations The World Hockey Association is expanding to 24 teams for the 2035-36 season. The two cities the WHA will put their new teams are Atlanta, which is a city the NHL has been to before, but both teams relocated, and Baltimore, which had a WHA team, but moved to Minnesota. The Atlanta WHA team will play in the State Farm Arena, the former home of the NHL's Atlanta Thrashers. The Baltimore WHA team will play in the brand new 16,000 seat Black & Decker Center in downtown Baltimore. |

Unfortunately I need to take another extended break from posting. I'll hopefully have something this weekend.

Unfortunately, I think it's time for this to come to an end. It was a great idea at first, but I think I watered down the product with over-expansion, plus the whole gimmick with the ECHL merging with the WHA. I just don't have interest in it any more.
I'll finish the 2036 season and post a quickstart, so if anyone is interested, they can continue what I started. EDIT: However, I am planning on simulating the entire history of the American Hockey League in an alternate universe. Last edited by WingaDinga; 03-14-2019 at 03:24 PM. |
