Empty minor leagues, completely confused.

I joined the tigers for 1 season as GM and now there is nobody in my A or AA.

I have since tried "filling teams with fictional players." This did nothing, not a single player was added.

I have enabled ghost players, though I can't even figure out what those are (as opposed to fictional players), this also did nothing.

I do not understand what I'm doing wrong. I don't understand how the leagues got in this shape, nor how to fix them. Any help would be appreciated.

you may need to file a ticket -post this in Bug forum, and most likely need to upload your files for the developers to look at.

i looked at your pics and some of the minors have a "few" players. Det. has 36, so when the season begins - 11 of them will drop into the minors. But adding fill rosters with fictional players should have done just that. Allowing ghost players is different. The rosters won't show anyone, but the game won't stop due to that lovely "illegal # of players" issues. Do you have a lot of free agents available to sign? (If you do, you could hold a free agent draft and get a few players that way - but so will everyone else. i see that rule 5 draft is scheduled for this date ... that may get you a couple of players, but they'd have to be on the major league rosters .....

dunno, but if you post this in the bugs forum, open a ticket, and follow the link on how to upload your files (just the .dat files) the developers could look at it and be able (hopefully) see what's causing the issue.

i do know that not full rosters for the minors in Dec. is not really uncommon. It's when it get into spring training/ opening day that it'll stop the game. empty rosters would bother me.

Thanks for the reply-- at the very least that has cleared up some of the "ghost players" questions I had.

This save had several seasons with the A's starting in 2002. The minor leaguers dwindled there too, but not this fast (only 1 season since I moved to Det and A and AA are fully empty).

However, I *never* got a message saying there were an illegal number of players on a minor league team (have got it on MLB though), even if there were only 10 players on a roster. I guess ghosts account for this?

I'm inclined to believe it's user error since this is my first save file, rather than a bug. I just don't know what I did wrong.

ooooook I figured it out why it wasn't filling with fictional players at least. (still a bit at a loss to where they all went!)

I need to do the league settings individually for every league (A, AA, etc) rather than just once through the MLBs league settings. I guess that's a no brainer but I didn't make the connection right away.

hmmmm i never heard of having to make the changes to every sub league.

did you do any expansion on your own? that always causes the same problem for me.
