Have only earned ~2100 points through first 14 games - what am I doing wrong?

I'm seeing lots of other people reporting that it's fairly easy to get a consistent number of points at least in the early going, but my team basically flamed out after just a couple of games. Checking again I haven't hit a single achievement in 10 games, which seems pretty rough for the start of things. I opened a few packs with my stash to try to get some flips going as per advice here, but my team development seems dead in the water before it even started which is disappointing.

My team is actually doing pretty decently in the entry league at 8-6, so it's not due to lack of performance. Team batting average .286, 11 home runs, 60 runs scored/52 runs against, 2.30 starter ERA, 6.25 reliever ERA (this with 3 79+ RPs). I'm about ready to just make my ballpark as tiny as possible to try to get some power-based achievements, or to just start over completely.

Loving Perfect Team otherwise!

2100 through 14 is pretty good; certainly better than what I'm averaging.

That is far more than I am earning. My team can go 10 days or more without ever earning any points and then maybe I get an achievement worth 40 or 50 points.

Think about it. At a rate of 2100 points for 14 games, if you extend it out for a 162 games season, is 24,300 Points for one season, which is only 6 days. Being able to buy a couple of diamonds off the market or open 24 packs each and every week would be way too extreme.

That's more than I've earned too. People making lots of money are the ones who have time to work the market. I think once we go live, it won't matter since those guys are going to get promoted.

If you're intending to play for free, there will always be people with a lot more pp than us. I'm hoping that with promotion/relegation all of that will even out and everyone will be at a level that befits them.

That's 2100 in 15-16 in-game days (counting off-days)... meaning you just earned 2 packs in 8 hours. That's a pretty darn good pace that, if it keeps up, would net you about 4 packs per day. That's a bunch of the first-time achievements, I assume, and it will slow down from here on.

But man, calling 4 packs per day (without even having to have the game open, btw) a slow start? I don't want to know what would constitute a fast one.

How could you have earned no points? You get 400 points for your first victory.

I've gotten 7 bronze achievements: first steal, player steals 3 bases in a game, 4 for 4, first victory, first home run, first save, first quality start. None of these seem super hard to get?

Many of us got those points over the weekend in the entry league before the real one started. Those "First" achievements are a boon to new players for sure but they are a one time deal.

The first achievements are only gained in the entry pool games.

Yeah, I'm realizing that now. I figured I'd have at least a little more to work with to do some stuff on the auction house after buying a couple of packs, but right now I'm sitting at like 125 points.

Points sometimes come in spurts. I only had 100 or so this morning after buying a pack last night. But while I am at work about 17 days will be simulated so I hope I see that total grow some by the time I get home.

Maybe they should give some points for more prosaic things like winning a game, and slightly lower the rewards for unusual personal achievements.

Just fielding a good team should be the best way to get points in the end, regardless of which path you take to be 'good'.

Yep. I'm seriously considering reworking my bullpen and catcher to maximize 4-strikeout innings. Bad-defending catcher, high-stuff low-control pitchers.

Bro I've made 840 PP in 40+ games. Don't worry, you're fine

Update, I picked up about 1100 more in the course of a couple games, most of it from Ryan Braun hitting for the cycle and scoring 5 runs in a game and a few more from a big offensive inning or two. Now I know to save those points for an impact player or two, it's just not worth gambling on a pack to maybe get a low 70s redundancy.
