This game has completely sucked the air out of me. Only two teams left which are neither completely outmatched in their quarterfinals pairing, nor that I don't boundlessly hate from the very bottom of my heart.

I can't stand Brazil or France and one of them have a great shot at winning this thing. So I'm hoping Belgium beats Brazil. Most of the teams I like are gone, so I'll be rooting for England. Though I doubt they can win the cup.

How about Mbappe with that punk ass dive? Even the great players can be pieces of garbage.

I hesitate to call him great, except maybe a great diva, or a great piece of trash washed ashore some otherwise neatly combed beach. The Uruguay guy that got a yellow for that *nothing* should normally be entitled to one free kick into Mbappe's kidneys while he still pretends to have been struck down by Thor's hammer.

Same with the glacial pace on being subbed out. How is that not a yellow for time wasting? Some of these scums take almost a minute to crawl off the field!

What your watching is Martinez finally waking up to the fact De Bruynne is an attacking midfielder and not a defensive midfielder like he pretty much as been playing under Martinez.

Soccer question: If a ball goes off of a player's hand into his own goal, is it a violation from the touch, or does the goal count?

That's a goal.

Look, I know your opinion of the guy isn't great, either is mine. But he has abnormal speed. Abnormal speed can make up for almost everything. I know. That doesn't mean he isn't a piece of trash. He got a yellow card and one more and he won't be playing in the finals.

As Ragnar states it’s a goal, ref will usually play an advantage, think it was a Russian game were the defender was clearly fouling the attacker but the ball bounced off the defenders leg into the goal, if it hadn’t the ref would have given a penalty.

This is why I don't like playing not to lose. Belgium has been playing the 2nd half like their goal is the Alamo. And playing on the defensive has worn them out repelling attempt after attempt from Brasil.

The yellow card is deleted after the quarterfinal.

Btw, we are now entering the Euro Cup stage of the World Cup.

Only Sweden, England and France been in a final and I was only alive fro the French in 98 so you can tell it's been awhile for Sweden and England. All I hope is the winner comes from England's side of the draw, if France don't win it it's a fresh face and I really dislike Martinez.

That also goes for most ordinary fouls as well. Say a player gets taken down but the ball isn't turned over. Instead, the fouled player's team goes on a break. They usually won't call the foul.

They probably didn't want to repeat Japan's mistake they made against them.

There are some Belgium's who secretly don't want Belgium to win, Krefel a TV company before the World Cup started made an offer, if you bought a TV and Belgium scored 16 goals you got if free. Belgium with last night's double are 2 goals away from that target with 2 games to play, even if theyr lose against France they'll still have the 3/4 place game to play, I don't like the TV companies odds.

the art of parking the bus is boring, but it works wonders in soccer. that's how Iceland grabbed their WC bid

Parking the bus is boring, however defending isn't and I think there's a difference. The Italians used to be masters at defending, to a lesser extent Sweden have been defending well, not Italian standards of old but doing a good job, neither the Italians of old or Sweden have bored me. I think people only want attack, attack, attack but don't understand how skillfuĺ a tackle is, an art that is sadly diminishing with players rolling around for 10 minutes fooling the ref so defenders become afraid to tackle.
