Albert Pujols got traded

So guys in my save King Albert got traded in year one, April. To the Rays, LOL! For Erasmo Ramirez. Angels are retaining 40% of his salary. Still he is the best player on the Rays roster. Stats aren't good this year, the projected WAR is 0.2
According to real life it's pretty unrealistic I guess. What would you do, commisioner mode and reverse the trade?

Have you seen smth similar to that?

Really undecided what to do, I like to let things play out, even the weird stuff, I mean even in real life such things can happen, like what you couldn't imagine before lol.
Maybe this is taking it too far..

Yeah my thought is that there have been plenty of weird trades you couldn't have imagining happening irl...until they happen!

Prince Fielder getting traded by the Tigers a couple years after signing that huge contract, Vernon Wells getting traded at all with his albatross contract, etc. etc.

I just started up my first real game. After one day of sim Pujols was traded to Seattle. There were also 2 other trades. I read somewhere that in the first few days/weeks of a quickstart the AI makes some wild trades to adjust to certain things. Is this true? Because after seeing an immediate Pujols trade and the Phils trading for Brandon Moss I felt like starting over or lowering the trade frequency to low.

Yup Pujols got traded to the Mets in my save year 1 or year 2 i believe. Not only is it unrealistic that he gets traded, he gets traded to an NL team, and will have to play the field. I believe he didnt play over 100 games for the mets because he was splitting time, i dont know if the angels retained salary I imagine that they did. I wasnt in commissioner mode but if i was i would have reversed the trade, and i will be playing in commish mode in my next save to prevent this type of stuff from happening

Well Pujols IRL has exactly 0.0 WAR after 150 PA so that part sounds realistic.

But MLB teams rarely make trades in April.

In each version the AI seems to have its favorite deals; the year after Pablo Sandoval went to Boston the AI seemed to trade him back to SF every season.

You can turn the AI trading frequency down (I turn it all the way down) to reduce the number of trades.

AI must love trading Albert. Just got dealt in the offseason after 2017 to Texas for a relief pitcher. Angels even threw in a prospect to get him out of Cali.
