Probably the Cubs or Red Sox. Mets could be strong in the pitching department.

It depends what you want to do. If you want to win now, go with the Cubs.

I'm all about Fantasy Drafts so I don't know who is good and who isn't from the get go. I enjoy winning, but I also enjoy the challenge of having to build a winner.

Right now in my universe it's June 6, Draft Day and I'm ten games under .500 because I have one starting pitcher (Tom Seaver-he was imported with several other historical players to compete with today's players) who can get anyone out and I'm on my third different fifth starter. My third and fourth starters aren't any great shakes either.

But that's ok. If that's how things have shaken out after my Fantasy Draft I'm going to have find some pitching and work to build a winner.

My "best" team is the one I picked and the fun is working with the challenges it gives me. Even having a winner presents its own challenges.

I'm a huge Cubs fan but am looking for a challenge so the past 2 years I have expanded the league on day 1 by 2 teams and took over the expansion team from day 1 and drafted for them in the expansion draft. This gave a difficult time to build a team literally from the ground up.

The Indians have pretty consistently been the best team in baseball in most of my test sims throughout beta

I guess it really depends on what you are looking to do with the simulation. If you want to take a dominant team - then grab the Cubs, Indians, Red Sox, Mets, Nationals, or Dodgers. If you want to take a crappy team and build them up; then grab the Braves, Padres, Reds, Twins, or any other yearly cellar dweller.

It's your game - have fun with it. I don't take any team - I like running the game in Commish mode and following the storylines as they play out.

I think if you are really looking for a challenge maybe Oakland. They seem to have some decent low level talent that can produce later but the near term is a big struggle in my first sims

Surprisingly maybe even Kansas City. I noticed they decline rapidly in first few years of sims I have ran. Not sure if it is due to their current contracts and guys leaving maybe with a bare minors system.
