Do veterans help your team win?

Will having a veteran on your roster help your team win more games? I heard it helps out with chemistry but does it help out with winning games? Also would they have to play or just be on the team?

Thanks!

Having a veteran neither helps nor hinders winning. It all comes down to how good he can play...period.

This is a good question. There is an emotional portion of the game which would matter when you have a good happy veteran. In RL it matters, but not 100% sure it matters in the simulation?

A veteran with very high leadership ability can also provide great dividends if you have a lot of young talent.

It would be nice if there was a screen, similar to what managers have, so that you could see the influence that the veteran is having on other players on the club.

if you have player personalities and morale enabled (one or both? the same?), i think it matters a small amount, but i'd still go with talent if the situation came up where it is either, or. figure if you won 104 without him, maybe you would have won 106 with some vets on the bench....

you can always add some veteran depth on the bench or a #6/7 bullpen guy. you only need 2-3 of them unless you got a bunch of bad apples.
