CURRENT: MLB DRAFT NEXT: DEADLINE/ALLSTAR GAME

Traded:
Alfredo Simon For Vidal Nuno
Reason: Salary Relief, intend to non tender Nuno at end of season.

Injuries
Lost John Lamb for 5-6 months (Fractured Shoulder) Robert Stephenson earns back rotation spot after going 0-4 with a 7.09 ERA in 4 starts
Stephen Johnson (4* Potential) Promoted to take Stephenson's Bullpen spot (Johnson's MLB debut)

MLB DRAFT:
1st Pick of Draft: Pittsburgh Pirates select 22 year old Raúl Gómez (5* potential) Whopping 75 power potential.

Cincinnati Reds First Round Pick (25th): College LHP out of Aruban, Gabriel Dalby (2* Potential). Dalby, a projected emergency starter, has a 70 potential rated changeup which wowed even the Reds verteran scouts that appeared at his international scouting day

Cincinnati Reds Second Round Pick (25th): College LF and RHH, Mike Barnes (1* potential) Barnes has intelligence, he knows his strike zone, with an amazing 80 potential avoid Ks he won't be taking the walk of shame as much as others. His plus contact at 55 is another upside.

Cincinnati Red's Third Round Pick: College RHP, Tynan Jackson (1.5 * potential) Jacksons best quality is his projected fastball, which sits at a 75 potential. Jackson has a current Stuff rating of 65 and projects to top out at a whopping 80 stuff potential. With this flamethrower comes a question of control, which Jackson does not possess.

Cincinnati Reds Fourth Round Pick: College Catcher Out of the Netherlands, Markus Valkenburg (1* potential) Valkenburg was taken for his contact and lack of bad swings at the plate, even with this, his path to the majors is currently in murky waters.

Cincinnati Reds Fifth Round Pick: High School LF RHH, Luke Malone (1* potential) Luke was drafted for his speed (70) Unlikely to provide for the big league club.

Last Pick of the Draft by the Washington Nationals, College Catcher Daniel Brown.

Overall synopsis of the draft:
We got fleeced, with 2 star being taken in the first round at 25 it's hard, overall hopefully we can acquire talent at the deadline. The steal of this draft is Mike Barnes with 80 avoid k.

CURRENT: DEADLINE/ALLSTAR GAME NEXT:OFFSEASON/PLAYOFFS

Promotions/Demotions
Jon Moscot (1st promotion this year) takes Straily's bullpen slot
Dan Straily (1st demotion this year) 1-2 5.23 ERA in 13 games (4 starts)

C Kyle Skipworth (Trade) 1st promote
1B Jordan Pacheo (Trade) 1st promote

RHP A.J Cole (Injury promotion) 1st promote/demoted after 1 week

C Roman Cabrera (Injury Promotion) 1st promote/demoted after 3 weeks

RF (converted to LF) Jesse Winkler 1st promotion this year, de facto starter

Trades:
6/10/16
Traded Joey Votto (5*) and Devin Mesoroco (2.5*) to the Washington Nationals for 24 Year old Wilmer Difo (4* potential) and 24 Year old A.J Cole (4* potential)

Reason: we will need rotation help with Lamb done for the year; Anthony DeSclafani, Robert Stephenson and Brandon Finnegan have not been producing in the rotation. Cole should be able to provide when he hits 25 years old and be a #2 to a possible # 1 starter in the future. Difo should be able to produce if and when Brandon Phillips gets traded or his contract expires.
Also provides great salary relief

Tucker Barnhart will now be starting at catcher with Kyle Skipworth getting the call as a backup and Jordan Pacheco will take over 1B duties with Votto's absence

7/25/16
Traded Billy Hamiltion (4* current) for 21 year old Yairo Munoz (4.5* potential) and 24 year old RHP SP Kyle Finnegan (2.5* potential)

Reason: Hamilton was demanding a 10 mill arbitration next year and with and extended 1 month cold streak I decided to flip him for some worth. Munoz should contribute once we are done with Cozart or could be apart of a different trade if deemed expendable. Finnegan was just icing on the cake, projected as an emergency starter, I feel like he can over come that ceiling and be a rotation piece.

Due to Hamiltons departure, prospect Jesse Winkler got the call to start in left field with Kyle M. Waldrop getting the start every other game. Scott Schebler is now our CF.

Rotation changes:
7/25/16
Jon Moscot takes over Brandon Finnegan's rotation spot (Finnegan: 5-11 5.37 ERA in 19 starts) (Moscot: 2-0 0.00 ERA in 0 starts 7 out of the pen.

Injury:
Brandon Phillips (Mild Shoulder Sprain) out 2 weeks
No promotion replacement
Jose Peraza Starting at 2B

Zack Cozart (Back Soreness) one week no DL
called up A.J Cole as extra bullpen option
Shifting Eugeno Suarez to SS Adam Duvall to 3B

Tucker Barnhart (Strained Back) 3 weeks DL
Called up C Roman Cabrera as a backup
Kyle Skipworth Moved to starting catcher

All Stars: Joey Votto (Technically with Washington, honorary with Reds so I'm counting it.)
Batted .273/.425/.411 with 6 HR and 32 HR

CURRENT: POSTSEASON
NEXT: OFFSEASON

Injuries:
Lost RP Blake Wood for 13-14 months due to a torn UCL, which will unfortunately require Tommy John surgery. A.J Cole will get the promotion in the time being taking over Wood's bullpen spot.

Promotions/demotions
(notable roster expansionees will noted, not all expansionees will be.)

MR A.J Cole (Injury) 2nd promotion this year, earns bullpen spot

2B Wilmer Difo (Roster expansion) 1st promotion

RHP Kyle Finnegan (Roster expansion) 1st promote

RHP Michael Lorenzen (Roster expansion) 1st promote

Rotation Changes:
Robert Stephenson (4-13 4.86 ERA) loses his rotation spot to A.J Cole and loses his bullpen spot to Kyle Finnegan.

Notable events:
Backup catcher Kyle Skipworth hits 3 Home Runs on the rare off day for Tucker Barnhart. Skipworth struck out in the 3rd but never looked back. Skippy hit a 2 run home run and 2 solo shots all off of Jake Arrieta. The Reds still unfortunately lost the game 9-5 with Kyle contributing 4 of the runs.

2016 SEASON ENDS
Record:
73-89 .451, 22 GB 3rd place
Winner of the division:
95-67 Chicago Cubs

Season Synopsis:
Overall it was a positive season, coming in 3rd place with a joke of a first baseman (no offense Pacheco.) Our pitching was overall atrocious, with a 4.33 team ERA it was all bad all around. Our saving grace was our average offense who was able to limp through the season with out the power of Joey Votto. In the offseason the main target will be pitching no doubt, then a budget 1B to solidify the spot, Pacheco has no future as our long term starter.

Team MVP:
LF (CF) Scott Schebler
.260/.318/.415 with 20 HR and 69 RBI
Scott caught fire after being transferred to CF, and eloquently filled the shoes of the recently departed Billy Hamiliton and although an arguably poor season on any other team, it was a masterful season on ours.

Team Dud:
RHP Robert Stephenson
4-13 4.82 ERA 27 HR allowed 124 K (21 starts, 28 G overall)
No comments needed. He sucked.

CURRENT: OFFSEASON/OPENING DAY
NEXT: DRAFT DAY

GM score: 119 out of 1000

Injuries:
1B Mark Reynolds had a career ending setback due to complications of an offseason surgery to repair a ruptured disk.

No award winners

Arbitration:
Non tendered:
Zack Cozart
Tony Cingrani
Ross Ohlendorf
Jordan Pacheco
Blake Wood (Injured)

Arb. Hearings:
None

Extensions:
J.J Hoover 2 yrs 1.5 mill. (Was Arb Eligible)

Players lost to free agency:
None

Free Agent Signings:

1B Mark Reynolds (DH) 1 yr 2 million
(Suffered a career ending setback)

LF Franklin Gutierrez (DH) 1 yr minimum salary (507k)

Mike Dunn LHP 2 yr 2.5 million

Stephen Strasburg 4 yrs 30 million (120 million total) lost 2nd round pick
This is the bonafide ace that we need, Raisel Iglesias is not a #1 starter and with 19 wins Strasburg was our free agent splurge in this off season

Trades:
25 yr old Jon RHP Moscot (1.5*) for 33 yr old LHH 1B John Jaso (3*)

Reason:
We need a first baseman, and Jaso can fill that void that Votto left, the left handed stick of Jaso had a plus season with the Pirates, swatting 15 homers and batting .288.
Jon Moscot was expendable with Brandon Finnegan and Robert Stephenson fighting for a rotation spot.

Traded 35 yr old Brandon Phillips (1*) to the San Francisco Giants for 33 yr old Francisco Liriano (4*)

With this, Wilmer Difo will get a platoon call at 2B with Jose Peraza going against lefties.

Reason:
Gets rid of Phillips as a liability, and adds to the rotation we are building and gets a lefty into the starting rotation as previously it was a packed righty house, this also lets Difo get a call and the ability to perform at a higher level.

Notable News:
SS Brendan Rodgers of the Colorado Rockies is the #1 prospect
The Reds have no prospects in the top 10

Rotation:
1: Stephen Strasburg
2: A.J Cole
3: Francisco Liriano
4: Raisel Iglesias
5: Anthony DeSclafani

Pen:
R Jairo Diaz
R Stephen Johnson
L Mike Dunn
R J.J Hoover

R Brandon Finnegan
R Robert Stephenson

CL R Homer Bailey

Lineup
C: Tucker Barhart
1B: John Jaso
2B: Jose Peraza/Wilmer Difo

Have you tried shopping Jay Bruce and Homer Bailey to dump payroll and get younger?

NEXT: TRADE DEALINE/ALL STAR GAME

Promotions/Demotions:
LHP Cody Reed (Injury) 1st promotion
(Wins rotation spot after dreadful start by A.J Cole.)

SS (DH) Yairo Munoz (Injury) 1st promotion
(5/22/17) wins starting spot over Franklin Gutierrez after a Gutierrez slump.

DH/CF Franklin Gutierrez (Poor performance) 1st demotion

Injuries:
LHP Francisco Lirano (Rotator cuff inflammation) 2 Months DL

This will call for the promotion of Cody Reed to the bullpen and will allow Brandon Finnegan to claim a rotation spot (0-0 0.00 ERA 1 G) over Robert Stephenson (0-1 54.05 ERA 2G)

CF Scott Schebler (Torn Ankle Ligaments) 3-4 weeks DL
The tears occurred after Schebler scaled the center field fence of Great American Ballpark to rob a home run.

Yairo Munoz will get the call from Triple A to take over at DH as Franklin Gutierrez will shift from DH to CF, Munoz was acquired for Billy Hamilton back in July 2016.

1B John Jaso (Sprained Ankle) 2 weeks DL
No injury Promotion
Adam Duvall will take over 1B duties as an interim basis
Jaso was slashing an impressive .346/.398/.533 with 3 home runs.

Rotation Changes:
RHP A.J Cole (0-8 6.05 ERA) loses his Rotation spot to LHP Cody Reed (2-1 2.81 ERA)

DRAFT DAY| Overall pick: 9th

1st Overall Pick by the Philadelphia Phillies: SS/3B/P From Vanderbilt University Willard Strong (2.5* current, 5* potential)

Strong is undeniably the next great of the game. MLB ready, Strong has all 5 tools plus a 6th tool, he can pitch. With 70 power potential, speed and a cannon of an arm, he is the future of the Phillies Franchise.

Cincinnati Reds First Round Pick (9th): College SS from Clemson University Geshirr "Gaz" Smalls (5* potential). Gaz is combination of Speed and power, the 6'1" righty has a 70 power potential along with 70 speed. With 50 potential contact to go along with 60 gap power, triples and doubles are Smalls' a game.

Cincinnati Reds Second Round Pick (9th): Forfeited to the Washington Nationals for Signing Stephen Strasburg.

Cincinnati Reds Third Round Pick (9th) High School C John Kennedy (1* potential)
Kennedy has average power and contact potential to go along with a solid knowledge of the strike zone. Kennedy is a defensive liability though.

Cincinnati Reds Fourth Round Pick (9th): College 1B from LSU Jonathan Pyke (1* potential)
The 6'4" Canadian out of Oxford, Nova Scotia, Pyke may be the steal of the draft. Pyke, a defensive stalwart at 1B is a power hitter in the sense, with a 60 potential in power, Pyke has a shot at having a major league career. The reason for Pyke's slide in the draft was his non existent speed and lack of smarts on the base paths, which may hurt him.

Cincinnati Reds Fifth Round Pick (9th): High school RHP Bob Cain (1* potential)
Strict bullpen piece, no chance at a Major League career.
(Accidentally picked him.)

Overall Draft Synopsis:
This draft, unlike 2016, was a positive, with a great 1st round pick in Gaz Smalls and a steal such as Jonathan Pyke allows the Reds flexibility in the system. Gaz projects to be a cornerstone to the Reds Franchise in the coming future.

Top Player:
1B John Jaso
Batting .333/.389/.489 with 4HR, Jaso is exceeding all expectations set fourth for him and has admirably filled Votto's spot in our lineup.

Worst Player:
A.J Cole (0-8 6.33 ERA) relegated to a bullpen spot as the 7th inning set up man, currently not worth giving up Joey Votto for.

Other News:
Wilmer Difo Wins ROM in May after hitting .364 with 36 hits and 4HR.

Jay Bruce (currently) is producing for me, and is also in the last year of that terrible extension he signed. So I've decided to keep that until maybe the deadline (hint hint)

About Homer Bailey, his days as a starter for this club are over. I'm using him as a closer even though I eventually want Tynan Jackso to take that spot over. With Homer in at closer I want to see if I can build value so I can shop him in the offseason, (which in my experience is the only way you can drop big contracts.) I will try to shop him at the deadline though.

CURRENT: TRADE DEADLINE/ALL STAR GAME
NEXT: POSTSEASON

Promotions/Demotions:
Anthony DeSclafani (1-3 5.12 ER) (End of Liriano's DL stint) 1st Demotion
(Lost rotation spot to Cody Reed) (Traded)

RHP Keyvius Sampson (Trade) 1st promotion
C Roman Cabrera (Trade) 1st promotion

Trades:
30 yr old RF Jay Bruce (2.5* C) , 25 yr old LHP Amir Garnett (3* P), 24 yr old LHP Cody Reed (3* P), 30 yr old RF Franklin Gutierrez (1* C), and 25 yr old SS Eugenio Suarez (2* C) to the Los Angeles Dodgers for 21 yr old LF Alex Verdugo (2.5* C, 3.5*P) and 22 yr old RHP Walker Buehler (5* P)

With this trade, Robert Stephenson (3-1 5.18 ERA) reclaims a rotation spot after admirable work in the pen, Keyvius Sampson gets promoted to take Stephenson's spot in the pen. On the offensive side, Kyle M. Waldrop takes over RF, Yairo Munoz takes over SS duty with Roman Cabrera getting promoted for DH responsibility.

Reason:
Can you say block buster? The Reds used Bruce's hot streak to flip him for a consensus top 20 prospect in Buehler (#20), Verdugo is already MLB ready at 21 years of age and will slide into a temporary 4th outfielder. He has poor outfield ratings at all 3 positions though. We also dropped unnecessary rotational depth in Reed and Garnett.

32 yr old LHP Mike Dunn (3.5*), 27 yr old Anthony DeSclafani (1*) and 24 yr old RHP Rookie Davis (1*) to the Arizona Diamondbacks for 27 yr old LHP Andrew Chafin

Chafin gets Dunn's old bullpen spot

Reason:
While not the best on paper, Dunn requested a trade so i obliged getting an older and same handed thrower in Chafin who (eventually) may become our closer in the interim until Tynan Jackson takes it over. We also sheaded dead money in DeSclafani and expendable Rookie Davis.

Injuries:
C Tucker Barnhart (plantar fasciitis) 5-6 weeks DL
C Kyle Skipworth will move to catcher with DH Roman Cabrera moving in as an understudy, no injury promotion necessary.

LF Alex Verdugo (Knee contusion) 1-2 weeks no DL
No promotion

Notable News:
Jay Bruce Wins POM after batting .312 with a whopping 10 HR

Signings:
Undrafted SS Angel Germán (55 contact) to a minor league contract

ALL STARS:
None
(Jaso should have made it)

Top Player:
SS Yairo Munoz
Batting .289/.322/.481 with 14 HR so far this season

Team Dud:
Stephen Strasburg (5-11 4.20 ERA)
What a waste of money........

Team Record:
36-63 .364 18.5 GB 5th place

Notable 40 man promotions:
SS Alex Blandino (expansionee) 1st promote

2016 3rd round pick RHP Tynan Jackson (expansionee) 1st promote

2016 2nd round pick LF Mike Barnes (expansionee) 1st promote

Injuries:
Robert Stephenson (shoulder soreness) 1-2 weeks no DL
(Suffered set back 5 day delay)
A.J Cole will get 2 spot starts in the interim
Cole gets 1 more spot start

A.J Cole (partially torn labrum) 3-4 months DL
Injury replacement covered due to expansion
Coming off a 6-11 season, Cole dealt with troubles notably his tendency to give up home runs (18 in 120 innings) with his season over, he will look to bounce back next year.

Tynan Jackson will take over Coles BP spot.

Rotation Changes:
Homer Bailey (1-14 5.91 ERA) bumped from closing duties for J.J Hoover (3-1 5.89 ERA)

Notable news:
SS Yairo Munoz is ROM in July after batting .391 with 4 HR

DH Roman Cabrera wins ROM after hitting .352 with 8 doubles and 1HR

Tucker Barnhart gets 5 hits on 9/25/16 with 4 singles and a double Barnhart drove in only 1 in a 13-2 rout.

2017 SEASON ENDS:
Record:
67-95 .414 22 GB 5th place
Winner of division:
Chicago Cubs

Season Synopsis:
Can you say 1st overall draft pick? Our pitching was a hot mess a 4.65 team ERA is not acceptable, Strasburg (even though he settled down post ASB) did not pull dividends we still had rotation swaps and issues. Last years 3rd place was a fluke.
Now the good parts, John Jaso exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The left handed put up career highs in Avg, Slug, and OBP this year. Even with these numbers it's unlikely he will be returning to us due to his 10 mil 3yr demand of an extension.

TEAM MVP:
1B John Jaso
Batted .307/.362/.457 with 15 HR

TEAM DUD:
RHP Stephen Strasburg
Pitched 12-16 3.87 ERA
Not worth 30 mill

TEAM ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
SS Yairo Munoz
Batted .280/.320/.475 with 25 HR

Sorry for the longer than anticipated hiatus from this series, I had a lot on my plate, luckily it's back. Hopefully this rebuild goes better in 2018

GM Score -44 out of 1000

Trades:
Traded 20 yr old C Drew Shred (2.5* P) and 20 yr old RHP Antonio Santillan (2* P) to the Atlanta braves for 30 yr old RHP Drew Storen (5* C)

Storen will be our new closer, with Tynan Jackson being pushed to a bullpen role.

Reason, Tynan Jackson still has Control problems (40 currently) I want to see if he can perform before I throw him into the ninth, Storen would be traded if Tynan pans out.

Traded 26 yr old LF Kyle M. Waldrop to the Chicago Cubs for 29 yr old RHP Jake Petricka

Reason:
Verdugo will be claiming a starting spot in the outfield and Winkler and Schebler were just simply producing more than Waldrop prompting the trade for bullpen support.

Injury:

News:
Alex Verdugo Hits 3 Home Runs on 5/21/18
The three shots (in order) were a 1st inning solo, a 3rd inning 2 run bomb, then a 3 run home run in the 4th, he also singled in the 7th then struck out in the 9th
The Reds won this game 11-9 with Verdugo knocking in 6 runs.

Alex Verdugo wins ROM in May after hitting .320 with 8 HR and 27 RBIs

Eric Jagielo is Mays POM after hitting .297 with 14 HR and 31 RBIs

DRAFT DAY:
Cincinnati's overall pick: 3rd

With the 1st overall pick the San Diego Padres select CF Jesús Lugo out of High School (5* P)

An interesting pick taking the defensively challenged Lugo, an interesting prospect nonetheless. Lugo meshes power with Contact (75 Potential in both) he's also fast but is very trigger happy at the plate.

Cincinnati's First Round Pick (3rd): Out of the university of Florida, College LHP Gavin Mitchell (3.5* C, 5* P)

Why wasn't Williams selected 1st overall? We will never know, Williams is already MLB Ready, (he's sporting 65 in all categories currently) his ceiling is 75 in all categories. Williams is an oddball though, he's revolutionized a side arm delivery which includes not throwing a fastball. With this oddity; Williams has exceptional command of his off speeds. Williams command of his sinker, slider, forkball, and changeup arsenal is beyond comprehension.

Cincinnati's Supplemental First Round Pick (2nd): Out of Marshall University, College RHP Alejandro Sierra (5* P)

A deadly relief ace, Sierra is competent in 3 pitches though, while also possessing 50 stamina. Starting aside, Sierra has chance to become the next Mariano Rivera, possessing an fastball, cutter, and sinker mix there is no question he will be dominant coming out of the pen. His ceiling is 75 stuff, 70 movement, and 75 control.

Cincinnati's Second Supplemental First Round Pick (3rd): Out of North Carolina State, College RHP Dallas Anderson (5* P)

Dallas is a fireballer, with a projected 80 fastball to go along with an 80 stuff rating, Anderson looking like a prime candidate to take a bullpen spot in the future for the Reds.

Cincinnati's Second Round Pick (2nd): Out of Idaho State, College RF Arturo Gullién (1* P)

Gullién is a contact man, while he can't slug the ball, Artuo can get on base and is a decent threat on the base paths, (possessing 70 speed) Artuo looks to pan out as a back up outfielder.

Cincinnati's Second Round Pick (acquired from the Phillies for signing Francisco Liriano) (3rd): Out of High School, 1B Jose Zúñgia (1* P)

Jose has a chance at a major league job if he can refine his swing, he's decent in contact and power (50 and 55 respectively) but he's currently blocked in the minors by Jonathan Pyke.

Cincinnati's Second Round Pick (acquired from the Royals as comp for signing John Jaso) (7th): Out of California State Fullerton RHP Rob Keller (5* P)

Keller is expect (and can only) succeed in the pen, with 20 stamina comes a projected 80 stuff to complement an 80 change up. MLB ready within the year, Keller should be a long time part of this franchise.

Cincinnati Red's Third Round Pick (3rd): Out of High School, 2B Art Bentley (1* P)

The Switch hitting Bentkey is a pure contact hitter. That's it. Bentley has hands made of concrete and can barely play a tangible 2B. He will be lucky to make it to the bigs if I have my say in the matter.

Cincinnati Reds Fourth Round Pick: (3rd) Out of Colorado Mesa LF Jermey Rogers (1* P)

A D2 baseball standout, Rogers was a unanimous All-American for Colorado Mesa. Rogers still has trouble with power and making contact, he still brings stellar defense at all 3 outfield positions. There is potential maybe.

Cincinnati Reds Fifth Round Pick (3rd): Out of High School LF Ed Wilson (1* P)

No potential short, slow and can't take balls, swings to much.

Last Pick of the draft:
3B Anastasio Garcia by the Washington Nationals

Draft Synopsis:
We did well with the 3rd overall pick, Gavin Mitchell will be able to perform this year, and will hopefully be an anchor to a sorry team such as ourselves. Also the pick ups of Sierra and Rob Keller bring in certainty into a jumbled bullpen. The others of the draft will be able to hopeful be able to produce for us.

Draft Steal:
Gavin Williams

Promotions/Demotions:
Yairo Munoz (Lack of production) (batting .235/.275/.391) 1st demotion

Geshirr "Gaz" Smalls (demotion of starter) 1st promotion

Roman Cabrera (trade) 1st demotion

Gavin Mitchell (trade) 1st promotion

Jake Petricka (lack of production) (1-1 7.23 ERA in 39 games) 1st demotion

Dan Johnson (injury) 1st promotion

Ivan DeJesus Jr. (Need of a backup) 1st promotion

Trades
Traded 26 yr old 3B Eric Jagielo (4* C), 27 yr old RHP Keyvius Sampson (1.5* C), and 21 yr old C Tyler Stephenson (4* P) to the Cleveland Indians for 26 yr old RHP Dylan Baker (4* P), 27 yr old Tyler Naqiun (2.5 *C) and 23 year old LHP Rob Kaminsky (4* P)

Reason:
With this trade we flip Jagielo's unsustainable hot streak for potential. Kaminsky, Naquin and Kaminsly provide young alternatives to our aging, over paid veterans. Kaminsky was the priority in the trade as already as a 23 he can play adamantly in the big leagues. We also gave up potential in Typer Stephenson, I believe though that he will not pan out since his ceiling is only 60 contact and 50 power.

Traded 29 yr old RHP Stephen Strasburg (5* C) and 28 yr old RHP Raisel Iglesias
(2.5* C) for 24 yr old RHP Carson Fulmer (5* P) and 22 yr old RHP Spencer Adams (5* P)

With this Fulmer and Adams will assume starting roles.

Reason:
This frees up the 30 million tied up with Strasburg, also it clears 2 rotation spots for Adams and Fulmer. This is a classic trade I like to execute, we got consensus top prospects while shedding payroll. With these trades though, our fan interest in low and right now it seems bleak to compete.

Rotation Changes:
Brandon Finnegan (4-5 5.18 ERA) loses his rotation to Dylan Baker
A.J Cole (6-6 3.75 ERA) moves to the bullpen for Spencer Adams

Lineup changes:
Scott Schebler moves to DH and Tyler Naquin moves to CF, Roman Cabrera is subsequently demoted.

Alex Blandino takes over 3B for Eric Jagielo who left due to trade

ALL STARS:
Eric Jagielo (CLE) Still counting it
Alex Verdugo (.307/.324/.531 with 17 HR)

Injuries:
Jose Peraza (oblique strain) 2 weeks DL
no injury promotion

Pedro Alveraz (sprained elbow) 4 weeks DL
Dan Johnson promoted as injury promotion

Current standing:
45-59 5th place 13 GB

Traded 26 yr old RHP A.J Cole (3* C) to the Arizona Diamondbakcs for 26yr old C Michael Perez (3* C)

Perez takes over the starting catching job while Cole's rotation spot goes to Carson Fulmer

Reason: This trade benefits us both, with the trade of Cole or frees up space for our young rotation and i feel that Cole deserves a starting spot. Perez should be a perfect backstop for our future plans.

Promotions
CF Sebastian Elizalde (injury) 1st promotion

Ivan DeJesus Jr. (Trade) 1st promotion

Injuries
Alex Verdugo (torn ankle ligaments) 6 weeks DL
Alex tore his anterior talofibular ligament after landing awkwardly after jumping and saving a home run from going over the fence. Sebastian Elizalde will get the call in Verdugo's absence

Alex Blandino (torn meniscus (knee)) 3 months DL
Alex Blandino always showed hustle "never give less than 100%" he said in one interview, well that hustle is now going to cost Blandino, as he torn his meniscus trying to let out a triple. To add insult to injury, Blandino was throw out after he collapsed in pain clutching his knee.

Trades:
Traded 25 yr old 2B Jose Peraza (2.5* C) to the Colorado Rockies for SS/3B Trevor Story (3* C)

Story takes over the vacancy left by Blandino and Wilmer Difo takes over the starting 2B job. IDJ gets the promotion as a back up.

Reason: Peraza wasn't contributing with his .216 average, so we shipped him for a 3B that can produce for us. Story should be able to thrive at Great American Ballpark just like he did at Coors. This will be Story's first starting job.

News:
Alex Verdugo wins POM after batting .556 with 2HR and 7 RBI

Rotation Changes:
RHP Carson Fulmer (1-6 7.22 ERA) loses his rotation spot to LHP Rob Kaminsky (0-1 10.64 ERA in 10 games 0 starts)

DRAFT DAY
Cincinnati's overall pick: 2nd

With the 1st overall selection of the 2019 MLB Draft the Detroit Tigers select out of University of Florida College CF Christian Meyer (5* C 5* P)

Let me say, thank the lord that the Tigers got tricked into picking the defensive prodigy that is Christian Meyer. Meyer is sporting a projected 80 defense in the field. The problem is that Meyer is only average with the bat. (Sporting a 65 potential in contact and only 60 in power.) Meyer is also fleet footed as he flies around the paths. Meyer will hopefully have a very productive Major League Career for the Tigers.

Cincinnati's First Round Pick 2nd: Out of Vanderbilt University, College CF Randy Sinclair. (2.5 C 5* P)

What a prospect, even though Sinclair can only averagely drive the ball into the gap that is the only flaw in his game. Speedy, smart and a natural The switch hitter is MLB ready with the bat and his glove, (70 in CF). Sinclair is also to have a projected 75 in Eye which also furthers his legend. Sinclair has and posses the 5 tools of baseball and is already being compared to Cincinnati's greats.

Cincinnati's Second Round Pick: forfeited for the signing of Bryce Harper

Cincinnati's Third Round Pick 2nd: out of Tulane, College RHP Anderson Byrd (4.5* P)

A starting pitcher by choice, Byrd has trouble with developing a third pitch which is his changeup, is is what caused Byrd's slide in the draft. A relief hopeful if Byrd can develop that changeup correctly he could be a force in the rotation.

Cincinnati's Fourth Round Pick 2nd: Out of High School, SS Raúl Martinez (1* P)

Martinez has shades of Mike Barnes in him, while he is a terrible defensive player, he knows his strike zone well and can make contact, although he can't drive the ball he can get easy singles.

Cincinnati's Fifth Round Pick 2nd: out of High School, LHP Claudio Ramos (1* P)

No future in this league

Draft synopsis:
I'm happy we got a steal in Anderson Byrd but I'm even more happy we got Randy Sinclair, this man will be a beast in the league for years to come, he has very little flaws and can't be stopped when he hits his prime

Draft steal:
Anderson Byrd

Promoted:

RHP Rob Keller (Trade)

Injuries:
Ivan DeJesus Jr. (Knee contusion) 1 week no DL

no injury replacement

Trades:
Traded 25 yr old LF Jesse Winkler (4.5* C), 28 yr old CF Tyler Naquin (2* C) and 26 yr old C Michael Perez (1.5* C) to the New York Yankees for 26 yr old C Gaby Sanchez (4.5* P), 26 yr old 3B Matt Chapman (3* C) and 26 yr old RHP Vincete Campos

With this trade Bryce Harper moves from DH to LF, Matt Chapman becomes the starting DH, and 1st round pick Randy Sinclair gets pulled up to start in center field.

Reason Randy Sinclair was taking in the minors, along allowing us to get a long term answer behind the plate, this allowed us to drop assists for a high price contender, Naquin was sucking with us, and we got a man to man DH with Chapman and a bullpen piece with Campos

Traded RHP 38 yr old Ryan Madson (3.5* C), 36 yr old RHP John Axford (2.5* C) and 28 yr old RHP Stephen Johnson (2* C) to the Colorado Rockies for 26 yr old RHP Carlos Estevez (4* P)

With this 2018 2nd round pick Rob Keller gets the call along with fellow 2018 draftee Dallas Anderson to man the spots left by Madson and Axford, Estevez takes Johnson's setup role

Reason: to get younger and get Anderson and Keller up on the big league roster, also all cheap contracts but it's still a salary dump

Rotation Changes:
Rob Kaminsky (2-3 6.30 ERA) loses his rotation spot to Homer Bailey (0-1 8.86 ERA 0 starts)

|SEASON ENDS|
Record 80-81 .494 20 GB
Division winner:
Pittsburgh Pirates: 100-62

Season Score 413 out of 1000

Season synopsis:
We were dealing with the absolute treat of constant hard hitting injuries having Blandino and Mitchell go down for 3+ months, the rotation is also showing the same levels of inconsistency, I'm trying to fix that but the players won't cooperate. Still we are moving up.

OFFSEASON:

RF Alex Verdugo: 6.4 mill
2B Wilmer Difo: 2 Million

|OFFSEASON|

TRADES:
Traded 25 year old LHP Rob Kaminsky (3.5* P) to the St. Louis Cardinals for 20 Year old RHP Rafael Garcia (4* P)

No immediate changes on the big league roster

Reason: With our stockpiling of capable starters have left us with a surplus of pitchers and not enough spots on the staff, Kaminksy was an unfortunate casualty of this thinking having been shipped for potential in Garcia.

Traded 27 Year old RHP Dylan Baker (4* C) and 27 year old SS Trevor Story (3* P) to the Houston Astros for 25 year old SS Alex Bregman (4* C), 25 yr old RHP Derek Velazquez (2.5* P) and 24 year old 1B Juan Fernandez (1.5* P)

Opens up a spot in the rotation for returning Ace Gavin Mitchell, also allows Alejandro Sierra to claim a rotation spot

This gives us a SS and allows Alex Blandino to move to DH, Velazquez gives us MLB ready depth in the minors and if Blandino, or Pedro Alveraz struggle at DH or 1B respectively then there will be no hesitation for Fernandez to make his big league debut.

Free Agent Signings:
Jose Iglesias 1 yr 2.2 million

Season Prediction:
1st place 92-70

2020 MLB DRAFT:
Cincinnati's Overall Pick: 15th

Miami Marlins 1st overall pick: Out of Riverside High School CF Manny Moya

Moya impressed scouts with his impressive power potential, maybe the Marlins are trying to capture the next Giancarlo Stanton? Time will tell but Moya should have a solid career in the majors.

Cincinnati's First Round pick 15th: out of High School 2B Jorge Jópez (4* P)

Lopez is your run of the mill lead off hitter, with a combination of sped and taking strikes (60 P eye 70 P avoid K) to go along with a good contact (60) and moderate power (45)

Cincinnati's Second Round pick 15th: out of Louisiana-Lafayette, RHP Justin Sullivan (1.5 *C 4*P)

Sullivan could be a decent spot starter in the MLB but most honest projections have him as a relief ace, after a good year at Louisiana-Lafayette's closer Sullivan will look to transfer his Killer Cutter to the MLB

Cincinnati's Third Round Pick 15th: out of Summerville Academy 1B Jose Rodriguez (1*P)

Power is this kids a game, (55 P) a probable flair out, Rodriguez could provide to the team if he can figure out his swing to mash MLB pitches, poor eyes and lack of speed caused his slide in the draft.

Cincinnati's Fourth Round pick 15th out of Bowling Green University RHP Salvador Gutierrez (1.5*P)

Not much to write home here, basic guy with good Stuff and Control, real lack of movement on his pitches though.

Cincinnati's Fifth Round pick 15th: Out of Wyoming University Aaron Harang Jr. (1*P)

Harang Jr. (Son of Aaron Harang) will be switched from a catcher to a pitcher to better utilize his skills.

Draft synopsis:
Lopez is a solid first round pick, shows flashes of greatness and should have a solid career ahead in this league, Sullivan could be used as a starter or a reliever but time will tell. The rest is an OK lot of guys.
