AI manager not reexamining lineup after injury substitution at start of watched game?

That title is a mouthful, I know. The situation is this: I play GM only, AI manager sets the depth chart and lineups. I sim most games, but sometimes I like to watch key games. I still leave all management functions in the manager's hands (that's what I'm paying him for, after all!)

Recently I clicked "play game" and the cleanup spot was blank on the starting lineup screen. The depth chart starter who bats in that spot was out with an injury, but not a long enough injury to put him on the DL. I don't control the lineups, and I figured the manager would start somebody, so I just start the game. Shame on me for not having more depth, but the guy the manager picks to play his position is a borderline major leaguer, okay defensively in that position but a lousy hitter. So be it. But he's batting cleanup. Meanwhile, in similar situations where the game was simmed without being watched, the lineup in the box score seemed to have been properly reshuffled with poor hitters in the bottom of the order regardless of who they are replacing in the lineup.

Is this a known problem, a bug, or an unavoidable consequence of the way lineups are set when a game is watched vs. simmed? Other than taking control of the lineups at game start, any way around it?

Replying mostly to bump this thread, as I'm interested in what others might say. The other possibility is that that's just how your manager wanted the lineup.

I have noticed this exact thing multiple times, but I honestly don't know if it's every time. Besides, my manager is always switching the lineup around, so it's difficult for me to separate this issue out from the rest of the noise his constant reshuffling makes.
