Historical Ballparks(Ebbets,Polo, Tiger Stadium, Crosley)
I was wondering.. if I start a game in 1920 with Historical minors and play all the way through the years do they have the old stadiums and do they change over years?(aka Tiger Stadium to Comerica in 99-00)... Im really thinking about it because the historical minors and having the legends and everything sounds so cool. Better than a standard game. Let me know and do you guys think Historical is more fun... Im a baseball nerd and I get caught up in the historywith all the players and stadiums I wish were never tore down.. (Tiger Stadium)
....

When will historical 3D stadiums be available? Even fictional stadiums that look historical with characteristics going back to 1901 would be nice. Otherwise playing a historical game in 3D looks cheesy. Are these being worked on?

Markus has stated that they plan to release instructions on how to create the 3D parks, so perhaps we'll see some classic parks in the near future. In the meantime, I plan to keep studying the current 3D park files and discovering ways to mod the ones I use to better match the classic feel of my fictional world. I consider it a work in progress. Here's are samples of modified 3D parks I actually use in-game. I've renamed them Comets Park (Minute Maid replica/roof eliminated) & Stratford Field (AT&T replica). Still a little too modern (cheesy if you prefer) for my taste, but they'll have to do for now if I want to play in 3D ballparks... Last edited by DreamTeams; 04-05-2016 at 12:47 PM. |

Here's a collection
of 2-d older parks (+Traverse City, my "local" jewel) to get you started.

I have lots of 2D older parks that I've downloaded from the internet over the years so that's not a problem.
Currently I'm still playing ver 16. But if there are enough antique looking 3D parks and if Markus allows separation of visuals and pbp, I will purchase ver 17. A couple years or so ago when 3D was first being discussed, I posted that it would be best to separate the two, that the eyes can't watch the action AND read the pbp at the same time. I got slammed by virtually everybody. Iirc even Markus posted and said they would both be present simultaneously. Obviously that's how it worked out. Now I'm reading complaints about having both together and no way to disable the pbp. Hopefully he'll change and provide an option. It's not much comfort being right a couple years later. Oh well. |
