This is indeed a great game and it is due to all the customer feedback being heard and Markus and team responding to it...all of it.

Double bump.

To the refund people - shut it! People love to bitch and complain about everything.

I bought my first copy a few months ago and my social life has taken a hit since (LOL). The game is so deep and awesome. I love the modding that is allowed. It kicks ass and Markus and crew deliver a steal at this price level. I showed my friends a few days ago, what I've created so far and they were blown away.

Been here for a few years, and the game has always taken a round of patches or two before being solid. Doesn't seem like this year is an exception. Since there are a couple of thousand hours and a lot of heart in the only league I play, the new version could have sparkling unicorns in it, I'd still wait out for the second "final" patch at the very least.

So, still no buy.

The guy that started the thread asking for a refund was doing so because he preordered the game, then participated on the beta team(free copy) and won a free copy as well. The OOTP team helped him out and he was able to get his refund. He posted a thank you and everyone walked away happy.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who actually read the thread, as opposed to assuming things from the title.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

As many problems as I've had (mostly solved now), I would NEVER want my money back. Ironically, I rarely watch "real" baseball, but I like this game. It's great.

Hello there..

It is the first year that i did not pre-order..with OOTP16 i jumped early; started playing before the updates; was already mid-season when first updates came out; ignored them and run into some glitches at the end of my first season..So it was not a problem of the game but my own lack of patience..

This year i decided to wait for updates and then purchase..(i play MLB modern day and never simulate) and i wanted to ask the community if it is the right time to proceed..I really would like to start a modern day game and not have to look back for roster or other updates. I will definitely purchase my all time favorite game but i'm willing to wait in order to enjoy it as i like..
Any info would be appreciated.
Also i would like to purchase it here but i want a steam key as well..Is this possible or it was only a pre-order offer?
Thanks

But the person who asked for the refund didn't ask for it because the game was bad...

The game is really good though

Just for the record... I knew that when I made the thread. I just didn't think the title of the thread, "How Do I Get A Refund", was the best advertisement for the game. At the time I made this thread, it was the first thread seen at the top of the forums. Most people don't read past the headline.

I think this version has the potential to be the best ever, but until the historical database gets cleaned up, I just can't say it is. For me a short play by play/ instant player that won't use 3D 99.8% of the time, 16 was a better less choppy presentation of baseball. Just my opinion.

Every version was the best ever when I got it. So this one is too. I'm sitting at work looking at the clock thinking about my team. Neil Walker wants 23 million a year for 6 years and I really don't want to pay him that. The owner wants an extension and the fans love him but man... that is a lot of bread... not many games in my life have had me thinking about it when I'm not playing it.

This game.... this game..... I almost can't put anything into words.

I have thousands of hours into Football Manager since 2011. I feel like I've 'solved' that one, to be honest.

This game..... no matter how perfect you are, you're at the mercy of the baseball gods in the playoffs. And MLB's rules are much more fair than those of the European soccer leagues. You can't stockpile talent for nothing and just when a player has reached his peak he's usually way too expensive for you. The decisions that must be made are gut-wrenching, hair-wringing, nail biting affairs. Nothing it worse than taking a shot on a guy you really want to keep only to see him hit an early decline and eat up 20 million for the next 4 years. You only make that mistake once. Until the next time, anyway.

I think the most important thing this game has done for me though is to rekindle my childhood love of baseball. I grew up with 90's baseball; the steroid era took away all of my love for the game. Watching McGwire and Sosa and Bonds just made me sick to my stomach. I developed a hatred for the game, I really did. Everything about it was false.

It's no lie that OOTP has brought some of that love back for me.

No joke, I expect this to be one of a very few number of games that I play for the next several years. It's consumed my gaming time that much for the last month.

Special thanks to Orcin, whose dynasty threads I read while my games are being played out by the AI manager. He's really given me a lot of inspiration in how to manage my club, how to become immersed in my fictional universe and make tough decisions.

Sorry for the rambling post but the tl;dr is, this game is a fantastic achievement and I look forward to the coming years of frittering away my life chasing those elusive world series titles.

I am an oldster that has been around since the first version. I have bought them all. I am still loving this version. The 3D version is making it great for me. Can't wait to see what they do in the future.

Kudos Markus and team!!
