First Verima Baseball League

So, with the recent acquisition of a better computer, OOTP 16, and the creation of the Web-Based Jersey Maker by ericjaffe, I have dived into creating a world that's been sitting in my head for weeks. My goal is to build an interesting and fun history and back story for a fictional dynasty eventually. So without further ado, the first professional baseball league in the history of the islands of Verima.

Original Six Teams:

Auralia Monarchs

Bray City Seabirds

Carvahall Jays

Downey Schooners

Kerchwin Pilots

Shermer Companions

The first team is located in Auralia, which is incidentally the capital of Verima and the home of the past monarchs of Verima. Today's remaining royalty make their home in the Palace of Verima, located right in Auralia.

*Note: The lion was found via google and had its colors changed, while the home hat's logo is a redone Kansas City Royals logo.

Cool concept! Very nice.

Personally, I added another layer of realism by actually creating a country in SimCity 4 to coincide with my fictional country/league

you should try it, if you can get your hands on the game.

It is addictive!

Thanks for the compliment! I have been heavily inspired by the alternate universes in Reds1's "United Leagues of Braeland" and BigSix's "The Coastal Baseball League" and I am hoping to create something I can immerse myself in and make last. And before you ask, Bray City is not named after Braeland, it is named after the greatest player I ever had the chance to have play for me in OOTP, Phil Bray. Bray hit over 600 home runs and had a .300 batting average in a 14 season career for me.

I'd love to get my hands on Sims 4 or another world generating game, however budget constraints and limited time prohibit me from going after Sims 4. Thanks for your suggestion though!

*I switched the Home and Away caps because I felt they looked better in this arrangement. I will probably revisit the caps in a few seasons.

Bray City is the location of our second team, the Seabirds. The city is the spot for those who love to go on vacation. Bray City is right on the coast of the ocean, and is home to many five-star resorts and a couple classy casinos. The city is also home to some of the best waves of the country and contains a large surfer population. The Seabirds are named after the numerous beautiful birds that fly around the beaches and buildings of Bray City.

So, I'm feeling like my Auralia Monarchs away jersey is too dark. With that being said, what is a good shade of gray to use for my away jerseys?

The Bray City Seabirds have a home jersey, away jersey, and one ballcap. I'm still messing around with the away jersey color and I may revisit the away jerseys at another point in time. For the first couple seasons, Bray City will stick with one cap, because I happen to like the one I made. I am still messing around with shoulder patch placement and I apologize for the lack of focus on the shoulder patch graphic.

Carvahall is located right at the meeting point of two of Verima's main rivers. Due to this, Carvahall is one of the oldest cities in Verima because of its access to a river that has a bay in both the north and the east. Furthermore, Carvahall is the industrial capital of Verima and houses some of the country's oldest factories and mills. Carvahall has seen many inventions within its borders and still houses many workers today. The team nickname was generated from the national bird of Verima. The Jay can be found throughout the country and on its flag.

The port city of Downey's claim to fame is being the port of Verima and where the majority of the country's ships first hit the water. In the distant past, Downey was the country's leading city for schooner building. Nowadays, Downey produces all things boating.

On the coast of Swan Island, Kerchwin is the air force capital of Verima. The nation's next greatest pilots are trained in Kerchwin and the city is home to the yearly flying competition between the young pilots of Verima. In honor of the men and women that defend and protect Veriman skies, the Kerchwin ballclub dubs itself the Pilots.

Shermer rests just off of Mirror Lake and is home to many great vacation spots. In the distance rests the three mountains that make up the Companion Mountains. Mt. Hidalgo, Mt. Pippin, and Mt. Satchmo are named after the horses that the first explorers rode. This is how the mountain range gained the title of the Companions. Shermer is home to some of the best fish serving restaurants in the country.

Here are all the sets together with facegens. Looking at facegens has told me that there are some things that will need to be fixed as the seasons pass. For instance, I grew disinterested with the Nike symbol as time went on and I'd like to make the sleeve cuffs on both the home and away jerseys similar. Furthermore, the Shermer hats are too dark to tell what color they're supposed to be.

Entering the fourth season of the FVPL, Kerchwin has the lowest winning percentage of the teams and has yet to finish a season with more wins than losses and attendance continues to decrease. With these factors in mind, the Pilots have made a short hop over to a new shiny stadium in Evansboro. They will continue under the name of the Pilots, but will be sporting new duds for the coming season.

Evansboro is not much different than Kerchwin. Evansboro lays claim to a larger civilian population that is wealthier than the Kerchwin population. Expect a bit bigger of a market in Evansboro.

Other changes entering the fourth season of the First Verima Professional League:

Downey: New Home and Away Caps
Corrected the home cap so that the blue was only surrounded by gray.
Changed the away cap to an orange schooner instead of a D.

Carvahall: New Away Jersey
Corrected the sleeve cuff on the away jersey and made the jersey logo bigger.

I'm still messing around with the away jersey color and I may revisit the away jerseys at another point in time.
