Union League Baseball Openings
Union League Baseball has three openings currently available:
Montreal Royals (25-36) The Royals have some excellent prospects, and a decent core to build around. They've aquired Matt Harvey in a trade, and also have Ugueth Urbina Jr. in the pipeline coming up. They also have an outfield of the future, with 3 outfielders in the top 100 prospects. The team boasts Josh Donaldson behind the plate and Tagg Bozied (a possible future HOFer) as their 3B. Lots of talent to work with in Montreal. St. Paul Saints (27-34) Another team with a bright future, the Saints have the top system in the league, and have plenty of prospects coming along. Kyle Zimmer, Mark Appel, Aaron Blair and Greg Peavey will be a formidable rotation once they arrive to join Matt White (If he's still pitching by then, that is.) With Fielding Bible (Gold Glove) Award Winner Joe Busch behind the plate this team is looking good. Henry Moreno and Fenix Flanagan provide some young power bats. This could be a team that's competing in one of the toughest divisions in the ULB soon. Green Bay Blizzard (25-36) Green Bay nabbed the #1 Overall selection in the 2013 draft lottery and got Yasiel Puig to anchor their team for the next decade or so. Even with Puig debuting and dropping off the Top Prospects list, they still rank 6th in the ULB. Willy Garcia (#2 overall prospect), Sundrendy Windster, Joe Gardner and Alex Colome will all be important additions to the team once they make their way to the ULB. The team also boasts some young talent on the ML squad with Tim Beckham, Byron Buxton, and Victor Wigmore all debuting recently. There's also Josh Womack. He's a baseball player too, and we call him the Wombat in the ULB for some reason. Seriously, he's called the Wombat. You'd sign him just for that reason, right? Interested peoples may send me a PM with an email address, and we'll get you set up quickly and painlessly.

Newly Available:
Houston Apollos (80-82) As we head into the 2013 Union Cup Playoffs, we have a new team opening up in the Houston Apollos. The Apollos boast a lineup that includes Andrew McCutchen, Justin Upton and Steve Thornton. Their pitching staff is anchored by David Huff (a Nolan Ryan Award hopeful) as well as Fernando Varela and Zack Greinke, who's coming off Tommy John surgery and a shoulder injury. Top prospects in the Apollos system include Jose D. Fernandez (4th overall), Hunter Harvey (27th overall), and J.P. Crawford. 2013 was a significant improvment on 2012, when they lost 99 games, and they could be in the hunt for a playoff berth in 2014 with a little luck.

I'd be interested. Can you give me an overall rundown on your league? Sims a week, how long the league has been around, longtime managers, etc.
Cheers |
