I had to get up and leave the room for a bit there. Oh and I had no clue Jason Giambi was still employed.

I was thinking the same thing! I think his AVG coming into the PH spot was .148

Ah Crap!!!!! Just saw a piece on Yahoo talking about the Tiger rookies having to play dress-up like lingerie football players. UGH! Any one remember what happened after the whole zuma or zumba or whatever it was pants photos surfaced? It wasn't pretty. They can't afford to start losing now.

So wait, your concern is what it might do to the team and not that such a horrible image has entered your brain never to be forgotten? I almost threw up in my mouth when i saw that picture. And they got onto their plane looking like that!

I just remember the pants thing earlier this year and the losing that followed. That pants picture appeared after a sweep as well. They had just swept the Red Sox They wore the pants and made sure everyone in the press got a chance to see them and lost 7 of their next 8 games.

How much grey hair does everyone have? Four 'relievers' to get through the 8th - shheesh. But, Soria came on for the save! Have they decided that Nathan coming on for the save is no longer sacrosanct?

Nice come from behind walk off win by KC last night. Detroit better not loose to the cupcakes these last few weeks or they'll pay for it.

Joe Nathan is a guy that if you have to have him on your roster, you bring him in to get one out and if he fails you move on to the next arm.

Stop using him as a closer! Stop letting him enter the game without another arm already warm! Stop leaving him out there to work his way out of the mess he has gotten the team into! Stop it!

Just curious what y'all think David Price's future with this team is? Do think they try and sign him to a long term deal? Do you think Price will even be open to that. Max or Price, which one would you rather they keep, or do you think they have already written off any chance of signing Max?

They have Price for next year so no decision has to happen there. I don't really care if they sign either long term. I am soured on the efficacy of signing starters to huge deals. Plug the holes as best you can and spend your money on defense, bats and a bullpen. Great D and bullpen help comes at less of a premium.

Joe Nathan sees (and reads) your angry tweets - Bless You Boys

the "Useless Joe" tweet made me laugh.

Okay, then I would ask, at what point do you start actively shopping Price? During the off season or do you wait to see how next season progresses and if it goes south move him at the trade deadline? Something tells me you get more for him if you shop him during the off season. Of course, I think a lot depends on if they can talk Victor into coming back. Oh God am I scared to see the panic move DD pulls if we lose Victor. Ryan Howard here we come.

I'd say shop him in the off season. If DD can't improve in CF, the pen or both with Price as bait it may be time for a new GM.

I bet Victor stays put, I think he is comfortable in Detroit.

I hope you're right about Victor. He is joy to watch play. I think he has to find someone to play RF as well.

I wonder if Dirks could play RF? You don't need all-stars everywhere and he is serviceable (assuming he comes back well - only 28 yrs old).

I had forgotten about this guy:

Austin Schotts Minor League Statistics & History | Baseball-Reference.com

Saw him play last summer, slick outfielder. If he could learn to at least not be a complete offensive liability, he might be a potential defensive upgrade in 2015 or 2016.

All I know is DD better not trade Iglesius before we get a chance to see him for at least one full season. Otherwise, he basically gave away our future RF for nothing. I know he may have had his hand forced if the Garcia/Mrs Fielder stories were true, but who knows?

Up 3-2, man on first, one out and Nathan on the mound... I've got a bad feeling about this.
