Offers to European players
I guess I didn't know the rules well enough, but I made a transfer offer for a 25 year old European player. The game let me make an offer, then came back with the European team's request for more money, then I agreed to it. Once the deal was complete, it said I had 14 days to make a deal with the player. Then when I tried to make a contract offer, it said that I couldn't because I had not drafted him. Somehow I thought that older players were considered free agents. I guess I was wrong. However, the game should not even let me make a transfer offer if I cannot go ahead and sign him after. I guess a minor edit could prevent this. Thanks.

#1) There aren't any "transfer offers" in the NHL -- an out penalty is negotiated in transfer agreements between leagues... so a European team can't hold a player hostage demanding 6 mill (which happened with Carl Soderberg, for me) to release them. #2) A player with NHL rights should be immediately available to the NHL team, depending on arrangements, obviously, usually the player doesn't come over until their season or current contract is over, however there are usually options to bring them over mid-contract. It seems that the rights functions are pretty broken right now, so I'm sure the devs will be addressing it. |
