I finally got my game to work, but when I try and open my Pirates league, the game crashes. I get the same error message I received when I had trouble opening it last week. Any ideas what is wrong with my league files?

Well, what did you do to correct it then? Not giving us much to go on.

As I said in your previous post; to which you never replied.
After you mentioned you deleted the Box Scores: Did you delete the entire BOX folder? If so you'll need to recreate a new folder named BOX in the league file. The game needs all of those folders to be present or it will choke and not work properly. |

Sorry Scott, I didn't notice your message. I have been very busy trying not to have my computer re-formatted. When I deleted the box scores, I kept the BOX folder. I also deleted DaveP1967's (from the BBSC boards) schedule generator cause I did not know how to use it. I also deleted a file named schedule.tmp cause it was not in any of my other career league folders. The error message reads:
Runtime Error Microsoft C++ Library |

Also, Steve I have no clue what I did to correct my game. The only thing I could have done before was to use Gateway GoBack and go back to before the error, however the error returned. I tried to use Gateway GoBack again, but the computer would not go back.

Can you use other league files?
If you can it sounds like your Pirates League may have been corrupted... When did you first have a crash with the league was it during a save? |

I use to be able to open other league files, but just now I am unable to. The game has crashed during a save before, but I was able to get the gam,e back to work then. Before the game had stopped working, I was successfully able to save and close the game.

Have you tried "installing" the game a second time on your HD in a different place to see if it will work?

Yes, I have installed the game 3 times now. My Pirates league is the only one that doesn't work. Is there some way I might have too much memory stored in that league and it can't load. I have several things under my MESSAGES folder that could be causing this, but deleting them may make things worse. Any insight?

If you have other leagues that will open, I suspect that your Pirates league is corrupt.

I did a little investigating and found that my Pirates franchise folder has 39.1 MB of memory. Do you guys think that is too much. If so, what should I delete? I already deleted box scores and game logs along with the text messages that I had received. Also, I am going to post the error message after in case it has a clue. I am a ****** to forget to post the error message.

Correction: There is slightly over 21 MB of memory in my league folder.
Here is the error message: OOTP4 caused an invalid page fault in module OOTP4.EXE at 0187:008a8cda. Jeremy you wrote:

If so you really should get that straightened out before dealing with application errors. The app errors may be caused by the system problems. If all is A-okay with your system... The invalid page fault message usually appears when key program file(s) or folder(s) have been deleted, or if some of the programs files are set as 'read-only' files. If there are key missing files in your league then I am not sure it is save-able. Be careful what you delete in the future and try to create league backups every once in awhile. If it's a missing folder you could just create a new one. Your league should have the following folders within it: - Box - ExpImp - Logos - Messages - News - Photos You can check the "read only" file attribute by highlighting some files within your league folder and right-clicking on them. The properties window pops up and tells you if the file is read-only or not. This has sometimes happened to OOTP players when they backed up a league onto a CD (that automatically changes all the files to read-only). |

OOTPB 4 is the only application giving me trouble. When i viewed my Pirates league folder properties, I found that nothing was check marked at the bottome (read-only, archive, etc). Should something be checkmarked there?
