Maybe I can go into the editor and give each team 10 million?

This is my default financials.. importing the 2010 settings when I started.
Not sure why cash maximum is $1,420,000?

This is really odd.. I loaded a MLB QS from v12 and these settings are much different than mine were for v11.
I'll change mine to match these and see if that fixes this issue.

Good news!
I changed my settings to those listed above and gave each team $10 million in cash. Good FA's are now being snatched up and I hope from here on out, the financials will get back on track. Time will tell... |

Is this problem only with version 11 imports?, or is it also with fictional leagues using 2011 financial settings?

We're looking into this. In my tests in OOTP 12-generated leagues this happened very rarely, not enough to be an issue. I am testing OOTP 11-imported leagues right now, maybe I can tweak the importer.

Okay, there was indeed an issue that caused imported OOTP 11 league to not have enough revenue in future seasons. It was okay for the first year if imported right at the beginning of the offseason, as advised. However, in subsequent years Teams were running out of money.
You can fix this stuff in your league right now. Simply increase the average local & national media contract by about 30% each and then either use the function to assign fictional financials to each team or edit teams manually to reflect the changes. The next patch will fix the importer. |

Markus, do templates suffer from the same glitch? It wasn't just imorted leagues from OOTP11 that were having this problem, but it appeared to me that league templates were doing the same. At least, that's what I thought I was seeing.

I never imported a ootp 11 league. It doesn't happen rarely in ootp 12. It happens all the time. It might not happen after the first year, but if you sim a few years, it will happen every time. You will see all-star calibar players that don't sign. Some will retire in the prime of their careers because of this.

I'm sure Markus is right, but I'm just not catching the full implication of an additional step.

I changed the settings to match the 2nd screenshot I posted and then instead of using the "assign to fictional teams button" I just gave each team $10 million so the good FA's would start to get signed. When this season is over, I would assume going forward, the financials would be fixed. |

Any comments about rdomico's claim that it's not just imported leagues that are having this problem?

I have also seen this issue in every league I have created in 12 no matter what financial settings I have tried. So it doesn't seem to just be imported leagues that have this problem.

I agree. I have not imported any leagues but also encounter the problem every time. FWIW, I create a fictional universe and generally run from 2011 financials.

Okay, so this is a problem with all leagues. I hope this gets fixed very soon, as I do not want to be fooling around with settings all of the time.

In all seriousness, this is a game-breaker for me. There is no reason that the 27 year old defending MVP (Segura) should be sitting in the FA's at any point after the season starts. This league, and every league that I have ran, are generated from OOTP 12 and in 5-10 years have all-star caliber players waiting for teams to sign them in midseason.

What do your financial settings look like? Are they the default MLB settings?
A temporary fix would be to give each team $10 million like I did, but I should be good to go from there as my financial settings were really jacked up. |
