Are the people having problems sure they're saving the folder in the right place? It goes into the quickstarts folder. The entire folder does. Then you go in-game, to the OOTP menu and click "load a quickstart game" and so long as the entire folder is saved in the quickstarts folder within the OOTP directory, all should be well.

I've loaded my fair share of quickstarts in my day and didn't do anything differently here.

Looks like a fun league though.

FWIW the game force closes when I click on the league name from the quickstart launch menu.

DC, I was able to use it the first time I tried as well. Now I can't.

I opened a tech support ticket. Let's see what happens.

Now in spring training, helming the Riverside Rebels in the lesser 2SLA. We hope our first season in the lower league is our last !

So I'm glad to see no DH used in 2SLA, and was curious if it was also absent in the upper league (didn't see this mentioned in the OP).

Did you unzip this into the qucik starts folder and start a new quick start with it?

Quick question about this league.

How does having the first year player draft work when it's in the middle of the season? I'd think that would mess stuff up since there are two teams in each league that weren't in the league the previous season.

Oh, and what are the steps for promoting and relegating? That is, when do you process the promotions/relegations and what are the steps involved?

Thanks.

I think the issue with this not always starting is down to the name given to it. When you create a new quickstart game it always defaults the name to New Game rather than the New Game n that starting a custom game chooses.

So, if you check the name field on starting it and change it to something unique, you shouldn't have any problems re-using it.

Spleen, I'm also interested in these good questions, not having simmed yet beyond May. Any insight?

First, for promotion and relegation...

Make sure you are in the preseason. After you sim the first season, the next preseason starts on February 3, 2011. So, sim to this day. To move your teams, follow the below steps.

1. Determine the teams who are moving. ie 7th and 8th place in the 1SLA and 1st and 2nd in the 2SLA.
2. In the Game Setup screen, go to the League Setup tab
3. On the left side of this screen, you want to click on 'Edit League Structure'
4. You should be on the League Configuration screen for the league you currently have active.
5. Find the 2 teams that are moving and move them.
6. In the top right corner, there is a 'Select League' button. Use this to select the other league.
7. Move the other 2 teams to the other league.
8. Go back to the Game Setup screen.
9. On the left, just below 'Edit League Structure', click on 'Edit League Schedule'.
10. On the Schedule Editor screen, click 'Generate Fictional Schedule'.
11. In the top right corner, use the 'Select League' button again to switch leagues.
12. Click the 'Generate Fictional Schedule' again.
13. Your promotion/relegation should be done.

As far as the draft goes, each year on Draft day, You'll have to set the draft order. I believe the game will set the draft order based on their records from the previous year and it doesn't care that they were in separate leagues.

If you are okay with that, you can just leave it alone.

I started with managing a team in the second leage, atlantic city aces.
How can I view the 1st league during a season?

There's a little button near the top center, to the left of the league's name. The button has a triangle on it and the tooltip reads 'select active league'. Click that, then choose the league you wish to view, then choose standings, team, etc.
