I could go for that, also, but it's a big change from what they have now. You are cutting the playoffs in half and I don't think many teams would like that.

You could make the same argument for the NFL, reducing the amount of teams to eight like MLB to make it better.

I think too many owners aren't looking for playoff teams, they're looking for marketable stars. The NBA is a me-first league. It's all about the star player. Do teams in the NBA build around a team philosphy anymore or is it all about getting that Franchise player market the team around? I suppose part of this is due to the salary cap. |

Nah, the amount of teams in the NFL playoffs is okay. The problem with the NFL is the divisional structure, but that's an argument for a different thread.

sad that MLB wants to expand playoffs.
I liked NBA more when 1st rd was best of 5...wish the 2nd rd was best of 5 also. |

Short of eliminating the wildcard entirely, expanding the MLB playoffs to ten teams is the only thing that can make winning the division meaningful again.

theres only 1 wildcard in each league it still means a lot to win the divsion when the wildcard doesnt come from your divsion

Right now there's no real difference between winning the wildcard and winning the division. Home field does not mean as much in baseball as in other sports, and the success of wildcard teams is proof of this. Just look at the frickin' Marlins, two World Championships as the wildcard while the Braves won just one in fourteen years as division champions. However, if there are two wildcards it means that both of those teams will have to use their best pitchers just to get to the divisional series. |

If the Grizzlies pull this off, it'll be a bigger upset than when the Warriors took out the Mavericks in '07, 'cause it looked like the Spurs could've come close to 70 wins at one point.

That is fairly amazing if they can do it. Also the Hawks over the Magic would be big. Atlanta was decimated worse than I have ever seen a team lose in a playoff series last year. Now they are on the verge of winning their series.
The Thunder Game last night was upsetting. I felt that the Thunder could have won the game but they made some horrible shot selections late in the 4th. That last 3 attempt by Westbrook with 7.5 seconds still on the clock caused a lot of yelling and cursing. I have no clue what he thought he was doing with that much time left. There was plenty of time for player movement and screens and hoping you could open up Durant or Harden for a open shot. |

Atlanta can beat The Bulls. Bulls could take ORL in 5. I would like to see Memphis win just because they never have before

Kobe's baseline under the rim reverse windmill dunk during the All Star Game also looked like 22 year old Kobe. |

Serge Ibaka just might be my favorite player. He is a blocking machine.

Wow, Boston and LA into the second round. Didn't see that coming.
Oh wait I did. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when Boston did not get all the calls and actually had one questionable call go against them. Of course the game was out of reach by then.
