Opinions Requested Please
After several tries I have finally made my first logo using Gimp. It isn't nearly as nice as what I would have liked for it to be but it's a start. Using Gimp is not as good as say Adobe PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro.
This thread isn't what I think of my first logo, it's about what you think. What changes do I need to make? Thanks for your input. Last edited by Bowtie; 04-25-2011 at 11:15 AM. |

not bad for ur first logo. One thing i would say is that u cant read the top part of the logo the inner logo . to me it kinda looks a little blury but that might be the bright spot in the logo (the top left ) thats giving the apperance of it being blury . well thats my 2cents and again not bad for ur first logo.everyone has to start somewere and learn from there |

I agree w/soadeathdealer; very good for your first try, but the team logo is a little blurry. I also feel that the glossy effect is a little too bright on the upper left corner.
I'm not familiar w/Gimp, but what I'd do is sharpen the team logo and increase it to 110/115% aprox. and lower the glossy effect's brightness/opacity just a bit. |

Find your inner logo in a larger size and size it down to fit. Sizing up always pixelates unless you're dealing with vector images.

Thanks for finding me a bigger one Soadeathdealer. I hope I'm not asking a silly question but how would one go about removing that white background without losing any white color in the logo? Last edited by Bowtie; 04-25-2011 at 02:13 PM. |

The newer logo looks much better. Can you put the gloss/light layer on the top? (I assume you can, but I don't work with light or reflection effects ever). Right now, it looks like you took a shiny surface and stuck a sticker on it.
