Historical Question---Contraction Style

I want to start a Historical League in 1977...the year MLB expanded to 26 teams

I am turning off expansion because I want those 26 teams to stay in place for the remainder of the league history

My question is---will the players from Colorado, Florida, Tampa and Arizona be there when my draft happens each year?

Yes.

If you have draft on, they appear there. If you have automatic rookie assignments on, then they will be free agents. At least, that's how it was in X.

Automatic Rookie assignments? What's that? Been playing OOTP since version 1 and never heard of it.

For the OP - What happens is, if you have the game set to import historical players each year you have a choice. They can go to their original teams, or if that option is disabled, they'll be in the draft pool.

He means that in historical league play, if you disable the draft, the players are placed on their original team...automatically

If you've selected the option to import historical rookies.
