Injured pitcher screws up game

My pitcher is injured after the third out of the inning. Immediately, I am forced to put another pitcher in my lineup (not sure why that has to be done at this time...the inning is over). Without going into great detail, I ended up having to manually exit the game because I couldn't continue after trying to pinch hit and replace the pitcher I had just brought in (the pitcher you are forced to bring in must face at least one batter...if his spot is due up...he has to hit). I tried to put in a new pitcher (forgetting that my guy has to face one batter). The game removed the "P" position from the pitchers spot. I have nine guys in my lineup but only eight positions shown. I either get "lineup incomplete" if I try to go back to the game or "pitcher must face one batter" if I try to bring in someone else. I tried to drag and drop the same pitcher into the lineup again (hoping the position would refresh and show a pitcher in my lineup) but it just says "this player is already in the lineup".

There may be a "work around" to avoid this but the ultimate solution is to not make the manager declare a pitcher until the team goes back on the field for the next inning. This is a pretty big bug IMO.

I was just struck with this one in the 13th inning of a playoff game.

Workaround was:

Hit show opponent, show batters list, return to game. Then I had to let Matt LeCroy face a batter. Amazingly enough he got him out and the marathon continues.

Guess it was slightly differant than the posters. But I knew the injured pitcher was due up 1st next inning so just replaced him with the pinch hitter and then he had to pitch to a batter.

Same general problem I guess.
