devTracker Thread Deleted?

Hey, where'd my devTracker thread go?

Why would that get deleted?

Did you xpost in the mods section? If not, it is there.

If so, I could see the argument for the thread being deleted (not that I agree with it, but just that I would understand it as being redundant).

I did cross-post, but because it would get much more attention here. Not many people visit the mods section.

I'm trying to release a utility that helps the community and the game... why would a thread about that get deleted?

Where should I make future posts - here or in mods section?

If not for the cross-post, I would not be aware of the "devTracker2" program. I guess I will have to check the mods section on more regular basis.

The threads could at least have been merged. Don't see why they had to be deleted. I didn't get a PM or anything from whatever Mod did it.

Anyway, until I'm told otherwise....

There's a new version out for Vista users who can't get the installer to work. It also fixes an international date issue. Thanks ootp3to6!

Is there any way to cancel operation of devTracker 2.0.1 if you selected all teams and all players by mistake?

No, not really. You can kill the process.

I did find out today, though, that by selecting the actual dates, rather than just using "oldest baseline" and "newest baseline", it speeds things up by about 10X.

So I was about to do an entire universe with about 2500 players in 4 minutes. Not bad.

Thanks for the suggestion for speeding up the results.

I just found out that I can get results for any of the minor leagues as well by selecting the corresponding minor league team (AAA,AA,A) from "League" drop down list. Really neat.

Yep, everything is filterable. For example, if you want to see how all Catchers in an organization are doing, you can filter out only catchers.

That grid is sortable, too. So if you want to see the biggest changes for a team, for instance, you can click on the "Difference" column, and it will sort. All columns are sortable.

Have you tried the graphs, yet? There are a couple of known bugs with them. One being that the baseline dates on the x-axis look terrible. I can't figure out how to fix them. The second is that the originally selected graph doesn't get checked in the checkboxes on the right.

When a graph is generated for a player, would it be possible to have an option to check a box to clear previously selected check boxes instead of having to uncheck "batting contact", "batting gap", "batting power" etc to reduce number of lines on player's graph?

We have a Mod forum for a purpose, for MOD's. That's probably a good reason.

This is true. But there were far, far more views over here than in the Mod section. A lot of people don't look over there very often. Especially new people.

I just wanted to announce it over here. All discussion regarding it should be in the mod thread, I agree.

Does this mean that this thread will be deleted again?

Maybe a link for devTracker 2.01 should be posted in thread in "MODS" section of forum.

The point is, why do we bother having a MOD forum if they're going to be posted here. My guess is, people go to the MOD forum when they're lookig for a MOD. If they aren't visiting there, then chances are they aren't looking. Having seperate forums helps keep the site somewhat organized. If everyone just posted whatever on this particular forum simply because "more people visit it", we'd have a real mess real quick.

It would be CHAOS!

I just wanted an announcement about it here. All discussion of it will move over to the Mod forum from now on.

People don't often look for mod's on the mod's forum because they might not be looking for one. Not everyone says, "I think I'll go check today for a mod that has player development graphs." But they see it where they ARE looking and are happy they found it.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
