HOLY CRAP!!! Draftee pitches NO-NO in 1st game!
I hope this is an sign of things to come! This cat was just drafted 5 days earlier as you see in the screen shots and pitched a no hitter in his 1st minor league game
. I have just commisioned his bust to be made for Cooperstown. (Now watch him have a career ending injury the next game, or be the pitching equivilent of Crash Davis and stay his entire career in the minors ) Never had this happen before, thought I would share. Anybody else have anything like this happen?

Did you do a screen capture of the final out (mentioning the no-hitter)? I usually do this for no-hitters & grand slams and post them in my archive binder.

I am so glad that was a minor league no-hitter. Playing BM last year, I was very disappointed when every year immediately after the draft several players would be put on the ML roster and in starting roles. This is very unrealistic.
And one year, an 18 year old high school pitcher was drafted, placed in the starting rotation immediately, and 3 days after the draft, in the major leagues in his professional debut, threw a no-hittter. I was NOT pleased, as there is almost zero chance of this happening in RL. |

In my last game vs. Pittsburgh,I inadvertantly hit the "finish today" button and simmed one of my games. When I went in and looked at the stats,I was stunned.Ray Culp had a no hitter after 7 but was lifted for a pinch runner in the top of the 8th in a 0-0 game. The Phils ended up winning the game 4-0 with 4 runs in the 9th.Johnny Klippstein my reliever gave up the Pirates only hit in the 8th inning.

That may be the first time I recall seeing a drafted player put to work immediately. In, I think, all of my previous leagues - regardless of version - the draftees tend to sit pretty idle for the balance of that year seeing minimal play, if any at all.

Ah, the Carolina v. Virginia Beach rivalry continues...
I haven't seen this in my leagues, but it so happens i just had a promising hopeful pitch a sweet 6 hit CG shutout striking out 11! Now it's decision time as he wants to be promoted to AAA. He's got the stats in AA 14-11 in 26 starts, 4.28 with 5 complete. The season is coming to a close so ST is going to be interesting for this guy. |

Not in a rookie league, if you adjust the schedule to start just after the June draft, and play the standard 62 games. I see them play in that situation all the time.

This is what really draws you into the game. This kind of stuff is better than the real thing -- and you get to play through the winter, rainy days, MLB strike seasons, etc.
