Oddly enough this is true. Not only do they refuse to release the rest of the code, but are not willing to consider it's release. I know a few people that asked and were willing to pay. But no consideration was given to it. Does anyone have any idea why? |

In a heartbeat. But while I love the game and would be happy to help it if I could...I love the opportunity to learn more. This would be what I would get out of it more than anything. Seeing how somebody else handles something that I might normally handle less effectively is the type of stuff I really like.
But I am positive there are much better qualified people out there than me. My "dayjob" is not coding FT...thus I have only my spare time to get better. I have a good deal of involvement in my company in software development...but I could never realistically make it my FT job. |

Oh yeah i agree but unless he was leasing the code to say some 3rd party developer that would keep making the game or a baseball game based on his code it wouldnt really be much use to him. That is it wouldnt be making any money. Because most people wouldnt be buying OOTP9 10 years from now if this was say his last version. I know Markus is not in it just for the money. I beleive he enjoys his creativity with the game but i couldnt blame him if he still wanted to make some profits from his work after retiring from it. Why waste years of hard work and dedication? |

Have not read the entire thread but is there a plan for fixing the issue with waivers in which a team could pull a player back and then place him in the minors without penalty?

If the player clears waivers he can be assigned to the minors. The exception is a veteran player with 5yr MLB service. He can refuse a minors assignment.

IMO biweekly updates are utterly reasonable. I'd like weekly updates, but biweekly would do.

Spending $30 on a game every year or so doesn't entitle you to any number of updates. The person who determines what is a "reasonable" interval for updates is Markus, not any of your arbitrary measures.

What's good and right is keeping the people paying $30-$40 a year happy
![]() If they want updates and get them, maybe they'll buy more. If they don't get updates, maybe they'll buy anyway. IMO, this update was solid given that we're still a couple months away from a release, but they should get more frequent to build up to what's coming. Of course, I'm not buying until people play it out and test for all the nitpicky bugs that bring the game down for me, but updates about sound would help someone else or something

What I would like is at least a general release date.
I would just like a general release date. Before anyone says that I have no right to expect that just remember that other games and software have general release dates 1st quarter or summer of 08. I would just like to be able to judge if I want to wait around for it or buy another product. I know that I am new to this game and it sounds good but does sound like it does have its faults so I am not totally committed to it like someone else might be. The release date would help me judge without another update needed. Just a thought. Don't bite my head off.....

I think Markus is just waiting for April 1st to announce that ootp9 has been canceled and will not be released until spring 2009. Only to surprise everyone and release it april 2nd.
