The Sox inked Matt Thornton to a 3-year, $3.25 million contract extension (with club options for 2010 and 2011), and Pablo Ozuna to a 1-year, $1.25 million extension that also includes a club option for 2009.

Specifics are in the article.

I'm happy with both of these, both of these guys are worth the money.
Indeed.

Buried in a column in the Sun Times:

A source already indicated that Buehrle has told the Sox he will allow them to counter or match any offer he gets.
Not sure if this is good or bad, since somebody will probably make him an offer during the off-season that the Sox would never make on their own...

Let's see the Buehrle One step his game back up before we shell out the dough, IMO.

I'm really pleased with how he's started. Yeah small sample size and all, but I was skeptical about the pickup.

Now that's what I call a um... wide strike zone.

Fixed that for you. Man, this season is really ugly so far.

Probably. Then again, look how poorly the Indians (and the Astros, for that matter) started out in 2005, and how poorly the Twins started out last year.

So...there's hope. Kinda.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but the Indians missed the playoffs that year.

Since eriqjaffe is a ChiSox fan, he probably considers that a good thing.

At least he isn't a Reading Phillies fan. That's like being kicked in the groin every day of every season.

Yeah, by what, 1 game? I was referring to them to illustrate my point that there's no reason to push the panic button because of two losses. There's still plenty of baseball left.

Once again, we must settle our differences based on mascots. A space cat beats a Phillie any day of the week.

The White Sox will be fine. There is 160 games left. If they go the next 78 games and don't win any I will then get worried. Mark is pitching today so we will get our first win.
