Custom Database Questions

I'm in the process of creating a custom database and I have a few questions to make sure that it is compatible with the "Add Historical Major League" Feature...

1 - Is there a max number of teams or divisions that can be imported or does it have to be 30, or the actual real life # of teams for that year?

2 - I think I read somewhere that it is required to have 2 sub leagues named "AL" and "NL". Is this true?

3 - Does it matter what year I import as long as I have players and teams for that year in the db?

4 - Will the import fail if I have duplicate Player ID's? I have a lot of duplicate players (ie '23 Ruth, '27 Ruth, '32 Ruth) all with the same Player ID (ruthba01). I changed them to ruthba01a, ruthba01b, and ruthba01c etc. But I fear that out of the 3500 players, I may have missed a duplicate ID or 2. Will the import fail just because of that?

I haven't tested it in a while, but I can answer definitively to #2. You do need to have the leagues named AL and NL (unless it was changed in 1.03). I went nuts trying to debug my custom db until I figured that one out.

2 - I think I read somewhere that it is required to have 2 sub leagues named "AL" and "NL". Is this true? According to Markus, that is true.

3 - Does it matter what year I import as long as I have players and teams for that year in the db?does not matter what year you import

Will the import fail just because of that?the import will not fail, but only one player per ID will imported. Also, normally the IDs are the first 5 letters of the last name, first two of the first name and a two digit number. Not sure if the game will handle the extra letter on the end.
Hope that helps.

thanks so much for the help. I'm actually working on a DB for a 100 team league consisting of 100 of the greatest teams of all-time. I've got 20 divisions (5 teams per) and I believe that the import is failing because of the # of teams, # of divisions or possibly the names of the divisions (do they need to be named E, C, and W just like it requires NL and AL?

I'm not sure why it is failing

I figured it out, the problem was the divisions. Apparently, just as it requires AL and NL, it requires either no divisions, or E,C,W or just E and W

Thanks again for the help
