If DaMook can help bust out this problem in the next day, cool. Otherwise Steve, I'll have some free time on Thursday if you need further instructions.

Er, no. Well, I don't think so. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
But, I distinctly remember this process getting hung up one night when I sent you a bunch of PMs asking for data, and you never got back to me...

DaMook, Squid, anyone who has experienced this problem, can you give me basic details about your Mac? OS version, Mac version are the main things, I think.
I just tested USN Squid's league with a Mac Book (running version 10.4.8, 2ghz intel core duo, 512 mb ram), and it seems to have exported fine (no error upon export). I'm waiting on one of their commissioners to check out the file for me. Conclusions: -There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the league file -There's nothing causing a problem on the FTP server. -Based on DaMook's feedback, there's nothing related to the user's service provider that is causing the problem. Other possibilities: Something in the configuration of the different Macs is causing this problem on some machines, but not others? |

I can't image the OS being the problem here. Everyone mac user in my league is experiencing the same problem. Whast weird is that it uploads a file but the file isn't complete, I think the K size each time is around 18k. Something is happening during the upload. |

I've logged this as TT # 196. Still working the issue.
Just FYI, this problem does NOT occur for all leagues. We're trying to narrow it down further. Thanks, Steve |

The mac users in our league are having this problem as well. I have an ibook G4 and have tested it to see what they were going through, and have found the same 64k file size issue.
I am the commish of the league and have two mac users with potentially more on the way. The two of them and myself are using the trial version, I thought it might be that, but I get a feeling it is happening in the licensed version as well. I had planning on buying the game for the mac so I can run my league when i trial, but at this point I will not waste the money for two seperate licenses when one version does not work properly. If you need our league file and password info, let me know. I would love to see this resolved.

This might help solve the problem -> the game is creating exports in the root folder for the whole computer
it is not going in the import_export folder but instead in Macintosh Harddrive, the equivalent of c:\ on a Windows machine. does this help?

Hack,
We've just confirmed that the issue has been resolved in the 2007 version of the product. I'm very sorry we haven't been able to resolve this issue with the 2006 product. Unfortunately, there will not be any more patches released for 2006. I know that's not the answer you were hoping for, because I know that SI values your business. One of the problems that Markus faces is that it's essentially a one-man development team, and he is unable to continue patching the 2006 product while working on the 2007 product, and still meet product deadlines set by SI. Since last year's release was very late, I imagine the timelines are much tighter this year as well. Different people, of course, have different opinions on this approach. Certainly, people have responded angrily in the past to things like this. Hopefully, you can understand their position. Since I'm just a volunteer, and not an SI employee, I certainly wish that I could hop back into this thread and say, "It's fixed, here's a patch for you." Unfortunately, I just don't have that ability. I'm afraid at this time, you will have to continue with the product as-is, and SI will have to understand that you will make your decisions on next year's product accordingly. I also wanted to let you know that the beta testing team for 2007 has focused very heavily on ensuring this aspect of the game is rock-solid. I'm not sure if you were following along the whole way, but there is a workaround for this issue, which is to have the Mac owners export to their computer instead of to the FTP site. They can then e-mail the file to the commissioner, and the files can be processed without issue. (I do understand that this is not preferable to a patch, I just wanted you to understand that there is a way for Mac owners to continue participating in your online league. It just involves an extra step.) Thanks very much, Steve |
