What no love for me in this award. If taking the West division champs and highest scoring team in the league, gutting them and transforming them into a bottom of the barrel also-ran until a small late surge to make the season look at least a bit respectable doesn't earn you the Manager of the Year award then I don't know what would.
For real, though Bear should take this without any problems what he did with his team compared to last year is amazing.

Is there any chance of expanding by two if there are just two interested folks? I'd love to have Tommy in on this as well.

Tommy would be a great addition but only adding two would lead to us having uneven divisions and that would screw up the scheduling and such. Plus, no one's pulled a Catalion and gone missing so we can't drop anyone. Hopefully, SAL can find two more interested owners at a later date and we can add in these folks.

I appreciate it guys...I really do. But I can wait for a couple more participants. It can be quite a job to redo the scheduling and so on.

Guys ...
... where are the individual tournament results so far? When I go to the individual tournament string it says they're done, but when I click on the link in Scot's signature, it takes me to a new window with the same post. What am I doing wrong?

No problems, I did the same thing a couple of times before I decided to scroll down a bit and stumbled across the results.

Well...........I spoke to soon.
It looks like the UTBA will be expanding once again before the start of season 4. If I get the four conformations back from the invites that I sent out, we'll be adding 4 new teams to the UTBA. Tommy has already PM'd me back. If we add four teams, here are my thoughts on the Conference structure. 1)Add one new division to each conference. Each conference would then have three divisions. 2)Take the two worst performing teams in a conference and place them in the new division along with two expansion teams. 3)Playoffs, have the three divisional winners make it to the playoffs and the highest scoring team in a conference that didn't win a division and make them a wildcard team entry into the playoffs. Any thoughts.......................... |

So it would be the Dublin Guard, MMS, and two expansion teams in the Gold and the Roughnecks, Punching Bags, and the other expansion teams in the Silver. Wow those are going to be some crappy divisions.

As for the scheduling, to keep it to a 10 week season, it would probably have to be like this: 3 games in the division 2 games against each of the other divisions in the conference (4 total) 1 game against each of the divisions in the other conference (3 total) However, I'm not so sure about putting the worst teams in with the expansion teams. I think that would penalise the teams who have been in the league from the start. Last edited by kenyan_cheena; 01-23-2007 at 06:08 PM. |

For the divisions I'm think something like in the Gold taking the Bears and either Tomato City or the Muckboys and putting them in the new division with the expansion teams so that way all the divisions have some top quality teams in them.

I agree. Take the top three teams from each conference based on the past season's standings and place them each in different divisions. I'll try to come up with a possible format.

Also, should this expansion plan go through and I think it likely will I'm going to make a prediction. Tommy will pick Ingemar Johansson as one of his heavies.
