eLicense Question
I have a licensed version of OOTP 2006 on my home PC. I recently purchased a MacBook.
Can I de-license the PC version and use the same license on my MacBook? I would very much like to use the game on my laptop but I don't want to spend an additional $35 for the privilege. Thanks. |

As far as I can recall, the licenses don't cross over to different platforms. I don't believe that Mac uses e-license, it's got a different scheme. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
I suppose you can talk to Marc Duffy ( marc.duffy@sigames.com ) and see what he has to say, although I can't right now think of any other game bigger than solitaire where if you buy it for a PC you'd get to use it for a Mac for free. |

Unfortunately, the two are considered separate products. While you can use your PC license on up to two computers, they must be PCs.
Another alternative, however, is this: If you have some kind of technology on your Mac that allows you to run Windows programs, such as (I believe) BootCamp, then I believe under that scenario you would be able to run your PC license on a Mac. However, this certainly isn't a formally approved way of using the game. ![]() Barring that, however, you must purchase a Mac license separately. Steve |

PC uses a license system called e-license.
Mac uses a license system called e-sellerate. The two systems do not get along with one another. |

IMHO, thirty-five bucks is an incredible bargain for this game. Personally, I've bought it twice so that I can run it on three computers (Macs), and it is STILL an incredible bargain. I've had countless hours of fun for less than the price of one dinner in a restaurant, or a tank of gas.

I don't think the licensing thing works anymore, I bought OOTP2006, and now have it on 7 different computers, all from the same license.

Are the computers PCs or Macs?
