First of all, it absolutely, 100% was NOT pine tar. Putting something on your HAND to get a better grip is NOT applying a foreign substance to the ball to alter the characteristics of said ball. By the letter of the rule, Rogers did not cheat. He might have lied about what he did, he might have thought he was cheating and tried to get out of it, but he did NOT cheat. No matter how many stupid big font, fancy colored, trolling posts you make won't change that.
I can show you several quotes from ESPN and CNNSI that completely destroy your lame opinion that pine tar doesn't affect the flight of the ball.

My posts aren't the least bit trolling.

You are wrong, the other Roger's apologists are wrong, Rogers cheated, and thats a wrap.

Except it wasn't pine tar, sillyass.

Edit: I hate board rules that prevent us from making it a better place.

I just read a fun comment, from Rogers, who said the umpires NEVER told him to wash his hands.

.....DIRECTLY contradicted by his manager, who said the umpires absolutely told him to wash his hands.

Why would Rogers say this?

To me, it is completely clear. He was trying to deflect the investigation, and downplay being caught with the illegal substance on his hand.

GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY.

What leads you to believe it was pine tar? The pictures definitely don't prove that as from what I see it could be a large number of things.

Sure, a large number of things, last night, game 3 of the ALCS, AND a July 20th start against the White Sox.

Sure, completely reasonable.

Go ahead and provide a REASONABLE explanation.

If you would actually read posts instead of trying out your effing giant rainbow, you would know that I suggested a substance similar to what bowlers use. It could have been benzoin or something similar. I never said it was dirt. Ever, ever. Read a little, learn a lot. Type in big, stupid colors without educating yourself, learn nothing.

It's very possible to argue the semantics of the rules here because the rules have a loophole. Did Rogers (likely unknowingly) utilize that loophole? Seems that way. But you're saying things that simply can't be true. Where are the baseballs with the pine tar stuck to it? Pine tar isn't going to stay on the hand and not transfer to the ball, especially as much as it appeared was on his hand. Another substance might not (and if it does, it may not have any ball-altering effect).

Please post the link to the test results of what was on his palm. Then and only then will I buy into what you're saying.

BASEBALL A really sticky situation; Suspension raises more questions
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The, Jun 19, 2005 by TOM HAUDRICOURT
What's worse? Cheating with pine tar or cheating with steroids?

Los Angeles Angels right-hander Brendan Donnelly was given a 10- day suspension for being caught Tuesday night with pine tar on his fielding glove. Section 3.02 of Major League Baseball's official rules calls for that penalty for any pitcher found with a "foreign substance" on his glove or person.

Donnelly didn't get a chance to actually doctor a baseball, being caught before he threw a pitch after Washington Nationals manager Frank Robinson asked umpires to check his glove. But the 10-day suspension was levied nevertheless by discipline czar Bob Watson.

This is why folks have problems with baseball's current drug policy, which calls for a 10-game suspension on a first offense for steroid use. Politicians, fans and media alike criticized MLB for not suspending players longer for drug use, and Commissioner Bud Selig eventually asked the union to accept tougher penalties, including a 50-game suspension for a first offense.

The union has yet to respond, but that's a story for another day.
Jay Howell was ejected for pine tar on his glove in the 1988 NLCS, too.

Touch pine tar. Touch something else with it. That's all the proof you'll need.

So? What's your point? I'm not seeing how this is relevant to the rule exception and what I have been saying.
