A cleaned-up Riverfront Stadium

Day and night pics...perfect for that Chris Sabo-era replay!

Or, if you really like the Cincinnati Bengals, here's the original:

That's got to be from the mid to late 1990s, with the picture taken from the lower red seats, I imagine.

Erasing the football lines took a bit of work. Good show.

Thank god we've got two stadiums instead of one. Why on earth the Bengals got the palace and the Reds got the pedestrian stadium, I will never know.

Wait! I do know.

Marge Schott.

You're probably right, I can't remember when they started pulling-down those Cigarette signs (Winston ad).

Anyone have any good color pics of Crosley Field?

The Winston ad went down after the tobacco settlement in 1998.

" on Crosley pix, they have to be out there somewhere.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Very nice!

Isn't Sabo a coach or some kind of instructor with the Dragons now?

The base pic for that riverfront stadium is the same used for APBA Baseball for Windows which came was released in late 1993, and started releasing stadium add-ons soon later (however, I dont remember when they released that specific stadium. So it couldn't be any later than ~1998 due to the ads. The Marlins started playing in 1993 so it can't be earlier than that. So it's 1993-1998.

This has piqued my interest. I'll check a little deeper.

I have the original photo and the time on the clock is 2:19, it is the top of the 1st and their is one out, nobody on. The batter appears to be dark skinned. I think it's either Carr, Jerry Browne, Cliff Floyd or Luis Castillo. But I just cant get it any clearer.

The batter is Edgar Renteria. The game was played on either 4-24-94 or 5-22-96. Either way Renteria batted 2nd.

Good work, beat me.

Then is has to be in '96 cuz Renteria wasn't there in 94. The other game Magadan batted 2nd and the scoreboard says shortstop.

I wouldn't have thought he was either, but there he is. I bet you're right, tho, about it being 96. The catcher appears to be wearing a single-digit number (almost hidden behind his strap), which would be Joe Oliver's 9.

This is by far the most baseball-geeky post I've ever made.

Don't know if this has been mentioned: It has to be before 1997, because I believe Cinergy had their name on the outfield wall.

That does look like John Smiley on the mound.

The game time concerns me slightly. I would have guessed the game would have started at 12:35 PM if it was a Business Day Special.
