Pitching velocity incorrect on Webcast screen?
Version 1.0.1:
This pitcher that's rated 101+ mph was throwing his fastball in the upper 70s. He was the starting pitch, fully rested, and was throwing that way from the start of the game. He is also from an imported 6.5 league. I submitted a screeny, Last edited by kevinbeister; 06-09-2006 at 05:53 PM. |

Are you sure this wasn't Mitch Williams in the 1993 World Series?

Maybe he's just talented enough to change velocities on that fastball.

I don't think it was the scout. I tried another 101+ pitcher and the same thing happened.

Pitching velocity incorrect on Webcast screen?
Hello,
I noticed a problem with the webcast screen. I subbed my setup reliever who has a velocity of over 100mph, and during his inning, all of his fastballs were 74mph? This is v1.0.1 post patch, and the league is imported from 6.5 Thanks,

Well, that's no good.
Tell me, are other pitchers hitting realistic MPH on the radar gun? Is your closer tired? |

It is not my closer, but it seems to be only with him, his ratings show as 101+ mph. He is not tired, although his endurance is 31 (scale 20-80). I have a starter who throws 99-101 mph and it shows the correct velocity for him ![]() Edit: No I was too lazy to search for it, but this sounds like my case. Definitely when the velocity is 101+

arrgh. This is an update on the issue I had earlier. I played out a game, and this time the opponents closer had the correct velocity showing (100+ mph) Seems like this is only happening with one of my relievers.

Is it always this one, and only one pitcher? How are his stats?
Odd theory, and this is pure speculation, that he may have wrapped around the radar gun and came out the other side. I dont know how this works. Last edited by Raidergoo; 06-13-2006 at 01:08 AM. |

Edit Raidergoo, I could not get the shot to upload due to the 100kb limit, but looking over his stats, he is pitching lights out (4IP, 0.00 era, 1 walk, 4k, 0.75whip), keep in mind it is still early Could be something with the webcast itself?

FWIW,
I think this is something to do with the display since with my reliever, it did not seem to affect his dominance. Still you never know...
