My Plea...
I have been working on a creating a universe for 2 days now. I have slept, but other than that I have had no life and have been creating a universe that takes place in the Americas. I must admit the creating the universe was not what i would call exciting, but I knew once I got done with it all it would all pay off. So I feel asleep last night and because there is no option to save while creating a universe I left my laptop on all night. I wake up hurry to my laptop to check and make sure everything is fine. Which it is. So i've been workin on the universe and am pretty much done with it other then adding minor leagues. I got done with 2 minor leagues and BOOM my laptop locks up. I am in disbelief. I try everything. Every trick in the book, it is dead as a doornail. 2 days of work ERASED. So with that I BEG! I PRAY FOR ANY SOLUTION! THERE MUST EITHER BE A SAVE BUTTON WHILE CREATING THE UNIVERSE OR THE ABILITY TO ADD OTHER LEAGUES (not minor leagues) WHILE YOU HAVE ALREADY STARTED A GAME. PLEASE! THIS IS A MUST! YOU HAVE TO PUT IN FAR TOO MUCH TIME CREATING A UNIVERSE FOR EITHER OF THESE TO NOT BE AN OPTION. PLEASE!

I agree that this would be a good addition, but in the meantime, check out some of the suggestions made in this post to minimize the time spent in the pre-creation screen. In short, there are a lot of things which you can leave until after you click the create league button

Its almost like were playing 2 different games here. I mentioned in another thread that it took me two hours to setup my league and then it crashed and I got shouted down as being crazy. You took 2 days and then lost it all. Thats harsh. "I feel your pain".

im glad i only set up 2 or 3 leagues and play the rest online where the commish has to do the work
really, it was a long process the first time, a shorter time the second, even shorter the third. im guessing by the time i actually get to the point where im creating a league im going to "keep", i'll have it down pat

I would also like the ability to save a game mid-setup. It is a process and sometimes you need to close the game, take a break, go to sleep, etc.

I agree. The ability to save and reload during the universe creation process would be very useful. Not only would it give us a chance to create the complex worlds we've been dreaming up, but it would be a way to do quickstarts without having to duplicate all of the league's files.
I'd like to see Markus take it one step further and allow us to do modular leagues. In this case, we could setup a customized MLB and save the settings. Then we would create a customized league ... say a European League ... and save it. Then, if we wanted to have both leagues, we could load the settings for the MLB, open the EU league and add it to the existing universe. Then, we could save the combined universe settings, create a new universe, and play. Just an idea.

I don't have the game, but I believe you can save a league as a "Quickstart". So, set up your league as much as you can, then before actually simming any days or drafting or whatnot, save the league as a Quickstart.
Then you can come back to it and customize from that point when making other leagues.

The save, in general, doesn't work like previous versions of the game. YOu either have to quit or you have to manually save the game. Unless I've accidently unclicked some autosave feature (which I might tend to want to do, if it takes so long ot save (and it does)).
