I did not see this listed, and hope I am not pestering with something that has been answered elsewhere.

Is something being done to make the use of Scouts in online leagues a workable feature? I would like it if each user could log-in when launching the program, and then that log-in would link the user with his or her scout no matter what page was being viewed.

I love the sound of all the other revamps. I can't wait for the new screenies. Thanks Markus.

Like my suggestions for the editor and player creator

I know, I'm a pain!

Thanks, Markus. This looks outstanding.

Sounds like fun to me. Adding a "role play" option adds to the replay value IMO. And like you say, if you don't like it, don't pay any attention to it.

Sounds like fun to me too. The most important thing is that the baseball end of the game is as accurate and fun as possible, but I have no problem with it slowly adding real life issues into it as well.

Maybe eventually the game can give us a little insite into all of our players life's. I think it would be cool to get an e-mail from one of my players asking for a couple days away from the club because his wife is having a baby.

As far as my wish list is I'd really like to see a better news section of the game. Something modeled after espn.com or something.

Is there any plan to include a csv exporter as part of the game with version 5?

Thank you.

ohh .. now that's a good idea. But, for this type of "injury", there would have to be history kept so that the same player doesn't ask for time off for a baby more then, at most, once a year

now that would be a much better idea than the one listed in this feature post. it's a management sim, you manage your players, not your personal life for gawdsakes. championship manager has a good approach to this type of thing, but this is just far too weird.

Now see, this is great. Something that it has taken me about 100 posts and 4 billion words to say - Markus successfully summed it up in...12 words. Pretty good.

As to those .200 average, 40 HR guys...begone I say! Pretty please. Replaced with a boatload of guys capable of hitting .260/.320/.400 with 25 2B and 12 HR in a full season - to keep our AAA levels full of slightly usable crapola! (Or Chat Mottola, if you prefer.)

Yes, and then maybe you could have the option of either letting the player go, which would increase his morality and feelings toward you, but hurt your team for those days if he is a valuable player... Whereas if you don't let him, you'd have him in the lineup, but maybe his performance would suffer... or maybe he'd simply have lower morale and want a trade.. I don't know, it's a thought... There could be a bunch of different stuff players ask for, and then as the GM/Manager you have the option of accepting/declining their requests and feeling the consequences either way.....

As for the news section... I agree fully ... There needs to be new news stories, with different, interesting topics.

The screenshots will be updated in a couple of days as well!

- Improved interface, with hyperlinked player and team names
- Support for mouse scroll wheels for roster and statistics browsing
- Game will ship with three different interface 'skins'
- Most reports (including boxscores, etc.) will be displayed in eparate HTML windows (multiple windows possible)
- Interface sounds and music, in-game stadium ambient sounds
- Brand new A.I. engine, impacting financial model, player evaluation, trading and roster A.I.
- Manager mode replaces challenge mode; this mode allows you to be hired/fired and compile a career as a manager/GM. You may even date women, marry and build a family. If you are lucky you get a son that has baseball skills and will enter the draft pool when he's 18-22 years old. Also, you may spend the money you earn on houses, cars etc. And be careful with your wife. A divorce is expensive!
- Enhanced minor league system with basic team W-L records, better reports and presentation. An option for required full minor league rosters will be there as well.
- More robust spring training period, possibly with simulated games
- Tracking of career minor league stats
- Tracking of career postseason stats
- Enhanced importing of historical seasons, featuring better ratings calculation (including park effects) and accurate OF positions, resulting in even more accurate historical stats!
- New player development algorithms
- Adding a "financial co-efficient", allowing users to adjust salary demands and financial numbers overall to historical leagues
- New team strategy settings, for example individual stealing tendencies, putting pitchers on pitch-counts limits etc.
- Numerous smaller enhancements, such as a player tracker, a sim multiple seasons option, easier league creation, a new overall player/prospect rating (1-5 stars), importing/exporting teams into a different league, player ratings in/exporter, schedule in/exporter, more reports, better news section with special reports like power rankings or minor league system ratings, rotation mode settings (strict or start #1 if rested) and lots more useful stuff.
I.... I... I can't wait

The part about the managerial mode really sells it for me (even though I'd have bought it anyway).

I played a lot of Front Office Football: The College Years, and found the ability of coaches to get hired and fired and to have coaching records really enhanced the game.

I went from looking forward to OOTP5 to counting-the-days anticipation.

Nice work

I definitely second an expansion draft being implemented as an option. Expansion and Contraction, it's a pain doing it manually.

Looks great! Please forgive me if this has been addressed in the past. One thing that frustrates me is the Disable List AI. I hate when I look at a teams DL right after the regular season and see a guy on there with 3 days left on the DL. It almost always turns out to be the staff ace or big hitter (thats not the part that frustrates me). What bothers me is the fact it is a short injury and they go on the DL and are ineligible for the postseason because they are due back 3 days after the regular season (and the day the postseason starts). I would love to see some computer AI that keeps them from putting the guy on the DL (especially an ACE) if they will be ready for the postseason.
This isn't anything that will keep me from buying the game (I love it), it is just an enhancement. I've never seen this mentioned before, so I may be the only one who cares (or I missed a patch somewhere. Thanks for a great game.
