New League from Experienced Commish. Non-Smoker preferred.

Sorry, just seemed like posting on here was like making a personal in a newspaper.

First off, I should let you know we will NOT immediately be running OOTP 6.5 until it is tested to work with everything, but we may upgrade in the future if it is possible.

Anyway, the link is in my signature. Click on the "Regional Rivalries" dealy.

For those who don't know, I ran the FBBL for 10 seasons before turning it over to an owner. After a few years off, I had the desire with former owners hounding me to start up a league again, to... well, start up a league again.

The idea behind it is there are 6 different cities, each with their own division. New York, Toronto, Miami, Chicago, LA, and Dallas. Teams will play primarily within their own division to represent their city in the playoffs.

Additionally, this is a NO TALENT LEAGUE. Stats people... they're the next big thing! So naturally we have Catobase all set up.

The benefit as I see it is you get someone who has experience as a commish, and at the same time get to put a personal touch on your team since we'll be doing a draft to get at least 30 players on everyone's teams.

go to the site and if you're interested, you can ask me any questions on AIM at FBBL Commish (old league, name stuck.) or you can click the "contact commissioner" button on the site. You could also simply use the application if you're interested. Make sure you read the rules though. And check the owners page to see what teams are available before applying.

Note that not all applications will be accepted. So don't rush this. If you prove to me you know the rules and you'll be online a lot and active, you have a lot better chance then the person who just submits a form and is hard to contact and decides ending every sentence with LOL followed by an unnecessarily large number of exclamation marks.

Anyway, hope to hear from you.

-Phil

Dola,

Forgot to mention since it's a fictional league with no ratings/talent, the players are fictional too.

how does a stats only league work? like the ratigns are non-existant, so you onyl have the stats to base your selections on who shoudl start, and who should be stuck in single A forever

Sounds fun
If at all possible I would like to be an LA team

EDIT: Are speed and fielding ratings going to be on? If not **** is going to be hard. Reading fielding stats is hard work.

Bingo. It'll result in many more failed prospects, much more like real life. You can't see someone hitting like crap and still not really care since you know he has the talent.

Contact me personally or fill out an application.

Speed and fielding ratings will be on. It's the batting and pitching that won't.

One last thing, 30 owners sounds like alot to manage. Any way to cut that to like 20?

A lot for who to manage?

A lot depends on the interest I receive, but keep in mind that I've already set up the league for 30 teams. I've simmed 3 years of history with 30 teams, and thus there are the players for 30 teams. Eliminating 1/3 of them might cause some problems.

edit: It would also result in 3 teams per division, with a wildcard still coming from one due to the way OOTP is set up.

I think the instruction is this:

Just a suggestion. 30 owners for me tends to dillute the close knit nature of the league. Also drafting takes forever.
But it is your league and it looks fun
I filled out my application

One more thing -

Since it's a talent only league and I have a team, you need to trust me. If you don't, don't bother taking a team as I don't really want all sorts of controversy about people worried I'm cheating. I have a pretty good history of ownership (Best record in my last league before i stopped running it, 2nd best in the online league i'm currently in and best over the last 6 seasons or so...), so it wouldn't be surprising to see me do well.

I just wanted to get that out there up front.
