Prospect development
I play in an online ootp league and i've noticed a lot of prospects who just for some reason don't develop. Is there a reason for this and is there some way to "jump start" their development.
Thanks |

Is your league using coaches or have they been turned off?

Well the league has been going on for some time. We are in the year 2009 and we started in 04. While we always had some "flops" i've noticed that since around 07 and 08 a lot of prospects just don't develop. They have awesome ratings but they just don't develop at all. I think this could be because coaches are turned off. Anyone else have an idea why?

Might be obvious .. but you could check into the league settings for player developement. Some leagues choose to give these a little bump.

By "check into" .. I meant for him to look into it. Asking the commish what the developement settings are may be a start

some players just dont develop to their full potential. it happens, and you can usually tell who it will happen too. if your player is 24 or 25 and not near his talent ratings, even though he may be a 4 or 5star spect, you know right there he will never reach his potential, and will be a bust.

I've found after playing nearly 50 years of a solo league that although there will be a good degree of flops there are also a lot of 1st rounders that eventually pan out some later than others. Also I have seen some late round guys gets talent boosts or just play above there ratings. In the end things seem to balance. This is one of the reasons I like to play with ratings hidden it just makes the game more enjoyable.
