This one made me smile. Love the last line in the paragraph.

Wednesday 10/20/1929: Crisler and Clark receive Cy Young
All the hard work finally paid off for Detroit's Gerald Crisler. The right-hander was named the Cy Young winner in the AL today. His ERA of 2.68 helped him to a 28-13 record this year. He struck out 351 and walked 130 in 366 innings. Gerald has pitched 5 shutouts and 31 complete games. He's 1st in the AL in ERA and 1st in wins! Crisler wins the award for the 2nd time in his 2-year career. Awards may not be the most important thing for Watty Clark, but Brooklyn's lefty smiled as he was named the NL Cy Young winner. His ERA of 3.27 helped him to a 24-16 record this year. He struck out 116 and walked 65 in 368.2 innings. He has 34 complete games and 2 shutouts. He's 2nd in the NL in ERA and 1st in wins! Clark wins the award for the 2nd time in his 1-year career.
