TCY Updated patch

For those TCY players, Jim just released a new patch (after three years..wow). It updates some conferences with new alignments.

Here's the link to the site, make sure to read the fine print on what to download!!!

The College Years 1.3

Hmm, I guess you missed the 1.2 patch that came out last year.

The rest of us didn't.

Yeah Giants, I've had that patch since the day it came out...exactly what Chappy said, it's been three years since the debut of TCY and still releasing patches to keep it current.

Thats so odd to see this. I started playing FOF when the 1st one came out, was playing 2004 tii about a year ago. I had not been on that site for a year easy, and just went there for the hell of it right before I came here, and saw this post. Weird.

I bought a new PC, installed TCY on it, had the original copy protection number, all is good.

Now, when starting a new career, after a short while, all the players' names become the same.

I did a little research, and this appears to be an anti-cheat device, to screw up the gameplay for hacked versions of the game.

This pisses me off TREMENDOUSLY, as I am using the original CD, sent to me by the developer.

How can I fix this? I want to reinstall and play the game, but it is an absolute no-go.

As it says on your install sheet "The license information must be entered EXACTLY as depicted above, or the game may behave in an unpredictable manner." You probably made the mistake of typing your last name with a capital letter. It is normally in lower case on your license info sheet.

OK, I'll try that.

I have the very nice plastic cd holder, with the registration number. I will enter it (again) precisely as listed.

I work with a Linux system, and am well aware of the sensitivity of upper/lower case. I THOUGHT I was being careful....

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is a very good game, I enjoyed it tremendously (on my old machine).

I would strongly recommend this game to anyone, it is a very fine football simulation.

No prob on the quick answer. It happened that I was up in the middle of the night, couldn't sleep, looking around the boards.

So far, so good. I started a Solecismic league in Missouri, fired up a team just west of St. Louis.

...and lost the first two games by a total score of 130-0. Ouch.

EVERY position except kicker and punter is poor for starters. My defensive ends are 0/0, RB is 3/18. The 18 for potential is one red-shirted freshman.

There is hope, however. Six high schoolers are dying to play for me...one is a very nice prospect, #575 in the nation. I have decided that I will always sign kids who badly want to play for me, including one with a scout rating of "3".

Anyway, great game, I won't be going to the Gindin Bowl anytime soon...

Very nice. Time to take the Sun Devils to a national title.
