Historic Logos
I have collected over 100 logos of all major league teams since the early 1900s to modern times. However, most of them are not great quality when compared to modern logos. Some need true black removed, some need to be resized. Below you'll see some examples.
Does anyone have a set of historic logos? If not, would someone volunteer to edit some or all of these for me. I think I have just about every one there is. |

Edit them how? Put them or in a logos set or edit the photos themselves?

I'm not sure exactly what to request, but my Time Warp league from the dynasty forums will be going live as a real league next month. I want these logos to be used with ootp6 and online. I need them cleaned up as I mentioned above, and I'd like them to be nice enough to add to my website.
I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if I want them in a set, but I would like them in a standard format (some are too big, too wide and look squished in ootp). Any help would be excellent. |

I'll look into it and see what I can do. No promises though.

John,
Is there anyway you could do your uniform logos as Cap logos? That would be a great 1901-2000 set I know logoserver has all the caps and I believe Dressed to the Nines at the cooperstown site has them as well |

Carlton,
Yes. I'm actually working on the caps now, have a good number done and hope to make them available soon. For all teams, 1901-2004. If the zip file isn't too big, I'll release them in bmp format too. Here's a sample.... |

Did you see this John? For early years its usually block or old script...most on their uniforms which you can transplant onto a cap...I tried to do it, but the colors throw me off since I am colorblind ![]() Here is the old Orphans/Colts logo and the Cincy logo Last edited by Carlton; 07-10-2004 at 09:23 AM. |

Yes I have seen that. Once they put it up it sure saved me a lot of time sitting in the library making notes from his book. I was finally able to properly check the uniform logos I'd made.
Of course that was about a year and a half after I'd done the first releases of the uniform logos. Better late than never, though. The colors are always a bit tough. (Even if you aren't colorblind!) Since the cap logos are larger, I'm able to bring out some of the subtle color changes clubs made from time to time and hoping to properly capture the Giants violet. In the early days, the clubs used whatever letters the tailor had laying around in the shop, so it was block or "ye olde English" script usually. Then some just said the heck with it and didn't use anything at all. Interesting stuff. (At least for me.)

Your logo and jersey collection is amazing. I just spend an hour looking at all of them. Superb work. |

Matt, would you be willing to zip up all the historical logos you do have and e-mail them to me? I wouldn't mind taking a look at what you've got. Send a zip file of them here: schedulejunkie@sympatico.ca
In terms of getting them cleaned up, what I was thinking would be to essentially recreate them as vector images, which means they'd be resolution independent and easily editable. It should be a relatively simple matter of "tracing" the raster images you have into a vector program like CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator. Now, I have to go take a look at what jdew has done. Sounds like it should be pretty impressive... |
