Civilization 3 league

Just kinda thinking out loud here, but I've been toying with the idea of combining baseball with a war game like risk or civilization 3. The basic what if is...What if war was decided by baseball instead of tanks and guns?

You start out with forty teams? and fictional baseball players and each team is given a territory. You can only attack touching territories and you attack by playing a seven or nine game series against them. If you win, you consume their team and take their best players.

This continues until there is only one team left.

What do you think?

you know, i was just thinking about this the other day. Wow. I was trying to come up with a concept for the farm system. If you took over certain parts of the whole territory, you would get x amount of prospects, etc. I think this would be a kewl design project.

Well I'm a huge fan of Risk, so the idea sounds pretty cool as a fun, side project. Would be interested in seeing where this goes before I would fully commit.

whoa...suck to be out early though,

maybe you should play a 40-50 game 'regular season' and then make seeds and do a Tournament style or something like that.

It would suck to go out early, but then there's always the next planet to conquer.

So to continue with the idea...

32 teams (countries) play H2H like risk there's only like at the most 35 games played for the final two countries.

So then everyone starts over at scratch on another planet.

Each season will take only about a month or two.

Or instead of planets, we could start with states in countries, then once the country is conquered you go on to the next country.

Either way, unlimited amount of seasons
