To be honest with you, I pretty much feel that the Pro Bowl is the biggest joke of all of the All-Star games. Players are regularly rewarded for what they accomplished last season, not the current one.

They'd be better off just doing away with the thing entirely and letting the top players fight it out with lions or wolves or something. Hell, I'm sure it would get better ratings than the real Pro Bowl.

The fact that Shane Lechler is not the AFC punter is as much a joke as anything I have seen. Of course it is really hard to get too fired up over the omission concerning a position like punter but it really is a farce.

I agree. Favres interception % is way too high, I think it's something like 2nd ro 3rd out of 33 NFL QBs. Can't blame those all on someone else.

I agree, the Pro Bowl is one of the ... <insert negative remark here> ... to ever be placed on this earth.

Whoever got left off the team because Troy Vincent is on it, got snubbed.

The Eagles are a team built to defy the conventional wisdom of all-star games. Andy Reid's "I'm the only ego around here" style dictates that he surround himself with players who will just shut up and do whatever he wants. I find his attitude slightly objectionable, but at the same time, the guy gets the job done.

The Eagles MVP this season has been Brian Westbrook, easily. But they really are the equivalent of a hive mind. Vincent made it because a) he always does and b) how can an 11-3 team have no all-stars? But they don't have all-stars, they just have solid working-class players with really good attitudes. It's an odd team to root for.

The last time I watched the Pro Bowl, John Elway (I think) was hurt so he opted out. His replacement? #7 of the New York J.E.T.S....Jets,Jets,Jets...

...No! Not Boomer! 'Concussion' Ken O'Brien; NFL Class of '83 from UC Davis.

Yeah, I would have put Hasselbeck and Brooks ahead of Favre.
Favre has some good numbers, but his 20 interceptions does not make him a probowler IMO.

Your depressed. How do you think i feel when i found out our couragious non selfish qb with a small ego problem Rich Gannon was not invited. I mean how can you leave out the most overrated qb in the last 10 years. What is the AFC tring to do?
Have a qb who can throw more than 3 yds downfield.

But as far as Shane Lechler. He did deserve to go cause he is a great punter. One of the few bright spots on the raiders this season.

I'd prefer that nobody have any idea who my punter is. I don't think having an "all-star" punter is really all that bright of a spot...

Lord knows he got enough of an opportunity to showcase his talent, didn't he?

Since they are currently 14-0 and the defending AFC champions, the OAKLAND RAIDERS should have at least a dozen players in the Pro Bowl! This selection process is a travesty.

I would have liked to see Brian Russell make it, since he has 6 INT, but oh well, I'm not gonna watch it anyway.

It would be if you were watching Ken Walter boom 18 yarders every Sunday (And Saturday for the final two weeks).

But here's a real snub, since other then Hasselbeck and Lechler nobody has seriously named anyone, Rodney Harrison. Probably having the best (or second best behind Reed - but that's arguable) season of any safety in the AFC.

But I mean really, so many of these guys just take their Pro Bowl bonus and say "Hey, my season ended just after Christmas I'm not going to bother playing a game in early February, put someone else in for me" anyways, so almost everyone who is snubbed will eventually get named to the team.
