Depth Chart Clarification

Hopefully someone can answer this question I've long wondered about.

When setting depth charts does the usage frequency apply per the number of games against the specific handedness of the pitcher, or overall.

In other words, if I set a player to be used at CF v LHP with a frequency of "every 10th game", does this then get applied every 10th game we face a LHSP or every 10th game we play, if that game is against a LHSP?

For mine it definitely should be the former but I get a sneaking suspicion - without having been able to definitively clarify for myself - that it is actually the latter.

it's per handiness. It's a pretty annoying way to handle subs imo

OK thanks JP. As I said, I actually prefer it that way because it tightens the control by taking the randomness out of it. But I can also see the other way of thinking as well.
