Compensatory Draft Picks

I'm trying to "recreate", to some extent, the 1995-2004 compensatory draft pick formula in my FHM9 game, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the data I need from the game. I tried the CSV dump, but that dumps the data I need in about three separate files, and trying to merge them all is extremely tedious.

Help?

Edit: Probably mistitled the post, but I'm trying to figure out which files I need, and can merge things. I'm not including the non-monetary stuff (as that basically just acts as a tiebreaker), but even pulling who the UFA's are, and merging them with teams, individuals, and contracts is a nightmare.

FYI, here's how the actual system worked: https://web.archive.org/web/20040803...exhibit15.html

And here's a better understanding about why it no longer exists: https://nathangabay.com/free-agency-...r-was-a-shark/

Don't think you'll be able to make it work because of the way the compensatory picks were just added to the existing draft, rather than being transferred from one team to another. There's no way to manually add extra picks like that to the draft in the game.

One of the modifications I made to the "rules" were to transfer picks from one team to the other...I managed to make it work, fortunately.

The files I ended up needing, BTW, were the Player_Contract, Player_Master, and Team_Data files.

If only (not really, this would be a trainwreck) I tried to model the pre-1995 equalization policies...LOL. (Simulated Scott Stevens would be stalking me in my sleep)

FYI, for those wondering, I've gone through seven regular seasons and six postseasons so far (am running through the 2029 Stanley Cup Playoffs as we speak), and no team has made or missed the playoffs in all seven of those seasons. (Only the Blackhawks had missed all six of the previous seasons, and they've won the 2028-29 Presidents' Trophy...nobody had made the playoffs in all six of those seasons.)

Not sure if this is the result of the compensatory picks or whether the compensatory picks have been just gravy, but it's clear that parity in the NHL in my game has been remarkable.
