Revamp of International prospects

Feeling excited but sad watching loads of international prospects all sign deals right now, and not being able to properly replicate this in OOTP.

Surely OOTP could replicate the international prospect system in future games ? Be lush to have the rankings for example, and ability to choose who you sign instead of your scout bringing them into the international complex.

Anyone know why they haven't done this before ?

International players are already in the game. I thought the were created by default but, maybe not? Under settings>players there is the option to make them and how many. My league is set, by default, to have 30 players come in.
The reveal date is July 1, again default I assume, but you can change that date. You can also set the signing cap.

Not sure how this compares to what you are asking for as far as reality but OOTP is not limited to the players your scout discovers and brings in.

I had never thought of changing the rules to mimic the off-season influx.
Still would be good to have that MLB international ranking list though ?

I think wha he is saying is that OOTP doesn't really realistically replicate the system in that the International players appear out of thin air, and are not taking part in any of the established leagues found within OOTP. (something Lukas has acknowledged) There isn't much fanfare about the process either in terms of media hype, rankings, etc... MLB has changed this date to January 15 for the last couple of years. It remains unclear if this alternation will remain permanent or not..

The International signing period (Jan-Dec) is a big part of where players come from IRL. I also think a bigger deal could be made of it in OOTP. It just feels a bit lackluster when compared to the draft.

Again, this is one of those areas where people might say "OOTP is a great baseball simulator, but not always a great GM simulator."

I took the bold to mean he only saw the scout discovered international players coming in.

OOTP may not have the reality he was asking about but it does have the international players declaring and having available to make offers to. It sounded to me like he did not know this was a part of the game.
