Earning Packs in Standard/Historical

Are there any ways to earn packs in Standard or Historical Modes (in Challenge Mode or not)?

I know I won one standard pack early on in a Challenge Mode League I was playing in as the GM only... how do these occur?

Yeah, in challenge mode only. You can earn up to 1 pack every 3 days (72 hours) and they are distributed randomly upon hitting achievements. The shortcut to a quick pack is to use the 1927 Yankees using historical lineups & transactions, because that is generally considered the best team in history so they hit a ton of achievements.

How do you mean randomly? Like to all people that are playing in the mode, or just for yours? Also, can you sim out games, do you have to play the whole thing, do you have to manage? Sorry for all the questions, just looking for more opportunities to get free packs.

When you are playing, you might get the pack in late June, or you might need to wait til 1928. The pack will drop at a random preset based on the achievements you unlock.

95% of the time, it happens before the playoffs in 1927.

I'll set the thing in auto pilot and then sim week to week if I'm able, or just put it into sim mode at 1000x speed and let it go if I'll be AFK.

yeah exactly what Torg said. It should take under 5 minutes to get a pack most of the time. Configure the continue button to sim a week at a time and just mash that with one hand and hit the enter key with the other one to clear popups.

Excuse me? Sim mode? 1000x speed? Please explain. At 1000x speed you should get the free pack in 10 seconds?

Doing the standard 27 Yankees. Real lineups/transactions, GM Only. All notifications turned off, set end date to November.

Auto-play to opening day. Start Real Time Simulation.
The clock runs at 1000x speed, but it also counts non-game time as sim time, so a whole day (usually starts 2pm ET in game) and takes about 30 seconds of real time to complete. Off days, too.

In the time I started typing this til now, it's gone from opening day to April 28th. Works great when you can't sit there and spam play til next week.
